There's no reason to flash your BIOS they rarely add enhancements to BIOS's usually just bug fixes. Plus it's dangerous to flash it unless you know exactly what you are doing if you half flash something then it's toast flash is either all or nothing.
If the SATA ports are showing not installed on the BIOS then it can be due to either older BIOS version or the Ports are not detected. I recommend to update the BIOS from the emachines website, please follow the link below:
htttp:\\support.emachines.com
Select the computer model and download the BIOS It should take care of the issue.
could be a 'gray market' machine! i've run into this before- basically 'your motherboard/bios' doesn't exist- good luck! boot up should show what your bios version is, look for that, rather than your motherboard version! 'my computer'- 'properties'- should have your bios info on it. use that info to find updated 'flash', if it's available. good luck!
you should restart and press F2 (on most pcs) to opent Setup. from there find the name and version of your bios. then go to your current bios providers website and download the flash update. it should be listed under the support tab. you may have to search. hope this helps. please rate me and thanks for choosing enterprise computing solutions.
There is no way you can delete a sound card. But I guess you are referring to the sound card driver shown in Device Manager. It's not a problem, just open Device Manager from Control Panel -> System -> Device and then click on a the icon Check for Device Changes to ask WinXP to locate the driver automatically. If it does not, just insert the Sound Card driver CD into the CD drive and start the installation manually.
Insert the CD to the CD ROM. Set the bios setup to boot using the CD-Rom. Space bar while booting up. If you got the setup press F8, choose NTFS to format the drive. Then go on with the Installation.
