Refrigerator-lights on not cold

I purchased a refrigerator from a home builder (it was in a model home) I move it to my home and plug it in and the lights are on but it isnt cooling in either the fridge or the freezer.. The fan or the compressor dont seem to be on. The LED only flashes HRS, otherwise the LED is not responsive.... I let it sit for 24 hours unplugged and then plugged it in and waited another 24 hours... Still doesnt work

would I be eligible on the warranty if I purchased this from the home builder?

Thank You it looks as though GE may honor the warranty. Couldnt ask for more!!!

Hi Kim, Before you check out the link below, Read about your refrigerator not cooling? Is your older or newer model refrigerator plugged in, getting power, the lights are on inside but the fridge will not cool and the freezer won't freeze? If your refrigerator or freezer has suddenly stopped cooling and the freezer won't freeze, we have multiple solutions for you.If you hear a clicking sound coming from the back of your refrigerator/freezer, then the problem is most likely the compressor is overheating or not getting proper power and will not start. The compressor is the component on your refrigerator that allows your refrigerator to cool. If this component is not working properly your refrigerator will stop cooling. Most of the time the compressor is not the component that has failed.

Refrigerator section not cold. Light is on inside the refrigerator but temperature is not working. Freezer bottom is functioning. Purchased the frigde less then a year.

I would start by checking to see if the evaporator fanis running . It moves the cold air from the freezer up into the refrigerator compartment

Fridge and freezer not cold enough since we moved

remove the panel at the reaar of the freezer. you should have a full frost pattern on your evaporator (frosted not snow packed) and the fan should be running. if you do not have a full frost pattern then you have a sealed system leak. covered under the first five years of your warranty

Kenmore Refrigerator Model #795.75004401 Doesn't get cold

Hi. Make sure all your fans are working. When checking fans, open the door and push the light button in. Some models the fan stops or dampers close when the doors are opened. Put your hand in front of the vent and see if you feel air. Do the same in the refrigerator and freezer. If you feel air from both, check and see of the compressor is running. There is a fan next to the compressor and should be running when the compressor is running. You have a motherboard behind a cover on the back of your refrigerator that controls all of these functions. It could be defective. Motherboard failure is common as well as compressor and evaporator motor failure. Fan Motor failure is common for refrigerators in storage for a long period of time. The motors are weak and can't start. This goes for all new refrigerators. I sell refrigerator items on Ebay as username, themackshack. Good Luck, Mack
