Clean all the glass on the scanner. There is a small spot on the area where the scan lamp parks when you use the feeder.
Make sure you clean the small, about 1 inch wide glass where the lamp sits.

Sounds like you need to do a head cleaning. go to control panel on computer and click on faxes and copiers. right click on the printer you are have problems with and there will be a head clean and nozzle check choice run through those.

Printing from auto feed leaving lines down side of page

if you mean making a copy from the automatic document feeder check the slit glass (the thin narrow glass beside the big platen glass) for debris, white out, dirt, etc... a small dot on that glass will make a line on the copy.

UN WANTED LINE APPERS ON PRINTED PAGE WHEN PAGE

I do not know what kind of copier you have but lines (when you run thru the feeder) are usually caused by something on the glass under the feeder. If you open the top, you should see the big piece of glass and also a piece about an inch or two wide next to the big one. Look closely at the smaller glass for any spots on it. A spot will show up as a line on the copy. You can use windex to clean it.

I have a Ricoh 2050L that is leaving vertical lines on copies by not transmitted faxes. How do I clean my fax or who can perform the needed service. What is a fair price in the market?

What you are saying cannot happen. When you send a fax or make a copy, you are using the same mechanism. Do you mean print outs instead of copies?

Open the doc feeder and clean the scanner glass.

Lines on Outgoing Faxes and Copies from Feeder Is there a way to clean the doc feeder scanner? I have a big line going down the center of the page when I copy or fax from there. Thanks!

Hello,

If you lift the top of the unit so that you can see the scanner glass and clean the surface on the left side and the very end of the scanner you should be ok. The sheet feeder runs the pages through the feeder and down to the glass at the end then back to the feeder and out to the stack of pages. If you try to scan anything with wet ink, highlighter, marker, etc some may come off on the glass and cause the lines to appear. Just use windows on a paper towel, not sprayed on the unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Two lines, one on each side of copies made from feeder and faxes

Try cleaning the rollers inside the scanner including the glass inside and out with a soft damped cloth. Look also for a piece of paper, staple wires, paper clips or pencil lead jammed inside the rollers or somewhere in the corner.
Also, look for a foreign object or substance on the cold cathode tube light and clean it. Try also cleaning the mirror.

Panasonic UF-490 - Two streaks down page

Either the glass is scratched or the sensor has gone bad that is used to scan the image.  Are you using a document feeder or laying it flat on the glass?  If you are laying it flat on the glass then it is most likely a sensor going bad.  If you are feeding it through the document feeder it could be that the feeder itself needs to be cleaned, or the paper path through the feeder.
If it is the sensor you will need to send it out for repair.  There may be an option to re-calibrate the scanner in the software, that may help if the sensor has just degraded and not failed.
I hope that helps.

Black line going down the middle of the page

lift the auto feeder and clean the scanner glass that your pages scan across -it is dirty. You can make a copy afterward and this will tell you if you have solved the problem.

Faxes I send are reduced in size and have series of black line down right hand side.

If its reduced in size during transmit or copy then simply place a letter size document in the feeder and close the two sliders up to the sides of the paper. If you don't close the slider up to the paper it will go into auto reduction
