Connect to wireless network automatically on boot up

Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon. This could be located on the upper row on a laptop it will have the radiation look (((•))) Make sure its pressed on. Usually a wifi enabled phone, computer, or whatever device, will recognize if there is wifi access near you. If not you may need to turn on the wifi on those devices. Usually those setting can be found in menus like Network Settings. Once it recognizes the network you will need the password if it is required. Just enter that in and you are set. Where you enter the password is usually in the same menu in which you turned on your wifi enabled device. if still no connection Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot. Right-click the wireless Internet icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. This brings up a new pull-down menu. Select "View Available Wireless Networks." This brings up a selection of different possible Internet connections that are in range of the computer. Select the wireless Internet connection you want to use. If a password is required, you need to type it in now. Wait for the laptop to connect to the Internet. In a moment the computer is going to state it has successfully connected to the Internet. Click Start, Run type in cmd and click Ok to bring up a command prompt. Type ipconfig /all and press enter and see if it gives you an IP address similar to 192.168.1.100. Check your wireless connection properties under My Network Places. Right click the wireless connection icon and choose properties. From there make sure Internet Protocol {TCP/IP} is listed, highlight it and click properties. Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is checked and Obtain DNS server address automatically is checked. Make sure you Ethernet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to intergrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its enabled if still no joy Let's first try to start the wireless service i.e. WLAN AutoConfig service manually. To do this, login to the computer as an administrator.

3. Under General tab, change the Startup type to Automatic and click Start button.

- Check the Hard Drive connection it might be disconnected.
- Or it might be your hard drive is defetive.

I see that you want your Wifi or Wireless to connect automatically, I believe that you have a Network at home.
To begin setting your Laptop to connect automatically to your Network follow the steps below.

• Click on start, click on Control Panel in Control Panel upper right hand side look for view by: then click on the drop down and select small icons.
• After selcting small icons you should see a screen with a bunch of icons, look for Network and Sharing Center.
• In Network and Sharing Center you will see a window, see below image.

• The yellow Highlighted portion is where Manage Wireless Networks will be, I just don't have wireless on my PC that is why it doesn't show.
• Once you click on the Manage Wireless Networks you will be on a different page, and you will see a list of the networks that your Laptops has for Internet connection select the Wireless Network that you connect to double left click on it then click next it will open a window for that Network, you will see boxes on that window put a check on the one that say automatically connect to this network when in range.
• After doing the above instructions click on Apply or OK if you have any of the 2 then you will be set on the issue, the next time you restart your wireless will connect automatically.

There is a wireless card on it. You can use the Connect to option of your Start menu to search and connect to a wireless network connection in a public wi-fi hot spot such as starbucks. If you need to set up your home wireless network, you can use your own wireless router connected to your modem and set the network ID and password by connecting your laptop to it and open the web page with the URL of the default IP address of your wireless router and configure the settings. Use DHCP on your wireless router and your laptop TCP/IP configurations (Shown as Automatic IP address). Then you can use the connect to item in the start menu to connect to the network of your wireless router (according to the network ID you just configured). If there is a switch on your laptop to turn on wireless card, move it to turn on wireless. See the edge and the bottom of your laptop to check about that. Some helpful links:

go to start then run... type devmgmt.msc...then go to network....look what driver is under wireless.

go to network then match the driver to the one that is listed in the device manager. Download the driver and reinstall it.

Assuming that the wireless driver is enabled and working, if not reinstall the wireless card driver. Are all the lights on the router are on, if not power down the wireless router, wait for 30 secs and power up the wireless router. Sometimes when you boot up the wireless card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. If you see the wireless icon on the Task Bar with a red X against it, just right click on the icon and click on Repair. This will repair the connection and get the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address. If you don't have an icon on the Task Bar go to Control Panel - Network Connection and right click on the wireless Network connection and click on Repair.

Connect it directly to the modem with the ethernet cable first...Windows will configure the Dell...then the wireless should work.

Try to change the wireless password or security key. You can also try to disable it then try to reconnect.
