KitchenAid Superba KSCS25FKSS00 SideXSide Refrigerator

Water and Ice dispenser, on the freezer compartment door, does not dispense water or ice.  Light at the dispenser is also out, although switched on. Water is getting to the icemaker and it is making cubes.

Have checked and replaced filter and saddlevalve both OK.

Dispenser wiring keeps getting cut by freezer door open/closing. Well known problem. All over the web. Kitchen Aid refuses to acknowledge design defect. Anybody got permanent fixd?

water does not dispense using water dispenser lever, however when using the ice dispenser lever ice AND water are dispensed. The ice dispensed is crushed, although the setting is for cubes......help!!!

Ice maker works- no water from in-door dispenser. I have checked water pressue on water inlet: OK. Changed water valve in back of refrig. Still no help. I see issues about the wiring harmess: how can that be fixed?

I had the same problem with the wire crimping at the base of the freezer door. I cutr off the mesh and used a 22-18 AWG **** splice to reconnect the broken wire. Then I used electrical tape to wrap all the wires together. Finally, I cut out a piece of the plastic bottom grill because that is what was causing the crimping. It now can easily open and close without crimping the wires. You can barely notice the grill is cut.

Simply opening/closing the door as KitchenAid designed resulted in the cable harness being damaged preventing the ice/water/light functions in the door from working. Two repairmen called it "FAULTY DESIGN by Kitchen Aid".

same problem. However, instead of just reconnecting with wire and wrapping the whole mess again with electrical tape, I will:

    1. Use a pin and socket type connector; available from Mouser Electronics, Digikey or others; see Molex

    2. Use heat shrink tubing to secure the conductors instead of wrapping with electrical tape.

Ditto on the problem. Proax9 is right on. All mine was fine only it woldn't dispense ice. I found it by wiggling the wire harness at the bottom and the night light in the door would flicker. Follow above idea and cut away black braided wire and you should see problem. I fixed mine with automotive wire connectors that you pinch the wires into a "v" for the connection. This keeps you from having to strip wires where there is no room to. I only had about 3/8" to work with before it went into door so I had no room to do anything else. Just think! ! Farmerdan

I had two (2) broken wires in the harness. I don't think you actually have to take the door off. It may be a little cramped working, but I think it can be done. Once you take off the bottom grill, find the end of the harness next to the water filter and unplug the white plug. Just below that is a ground wire. Remove the screw and take the green wire off. Then, next to that is a white "c-clip" holding the harness against the bottom of the refrigerator. Remove that clamp and you should have enough "play" to work on the harness. (It is probably a pain in the #*@ to remove the entire harness because it runs into a hole in the bottom of the door and then up through the door itself) You'll have to cut away the black mesh sleeve over the harness. I cut it with a pair of wire cutters as close to where the harness goes into the door as possible. There may also be a bit of black electrical tape at the end of the mesh closest to the white plug. Remove that, and you should be able to slide the mesh sleeve off, over the plug. This should reveal the broken wires. I just took some 12 gauge braided wire and cut a couple of pieces

Water dispenser works, ice maker makes ice but doe not dispense

Remove the ice bucket/container from inside the freezer compartment. Examine underneath at the front of the container to see if ice cubes are lodged between the metal blades. If cubes are caught in this area, they will prevent ice from dropping into the glass/cup.

Kscs25fkss00 superba - water not flowing to icemaker but water dispenser works - there is not ice blocking line/tray

Most times that is caused by the dual water control valve on rear of the refrigerator. You can test the ice maker by filling with water and letting it freeze. If the ice drops then the valve is the problem. If the ice does not drop then the ice maker is were the problem is, Thanks, Sea Breeze

No water dispensing to the icemaker. Water does dispense through the door dispenser. KitchenAid ksbs25fkbl00

Unplug your refrigerator and leave the freezer door open for 2 hours (The food in the freezer will only partially thaw).

The line supplying the water to the ice maker has frozen...this will un-thaw it.
