Many commercial cleansers are good for neutralizing odors, but several common household products can be used as well. Vinegar is an extremely versatile grocery item that neutralizes many odors, including those left behind by pet accidents and skunk sprays.

Baking soda, whether applied dry to an area or mixed and sprayed with warm water, is another effective way to absorb and neutralize household odors. Baking soda carries the added benefit of absorbing moisture, so it often makes a good secondary application for a moist stubborn stain causing an odor. Citrus fruits like lemon and oranges deodorize and leave a pleasant smell behind. Using citrus juice on fabrics is not usually recommended, but they are good for things like running through garbage disposals.

the drain plugs are located under the floor mats in the floor pan . If you look from underneath you will see the round plugs .If the carpets have been wet that bad then you will never get rid of the musty ( fungus) smell . consider new floor mats

The washer smells funny. Like mildew or something. No water standing. Seems to drain.

Probably has some standing water in the pump hoses as well as the drain hoses If you do not use the machine often, then some water is left in the drain hoses and upon evaporation it may do what you smell. Pour some bleach in the tub, with water and let stand for 15 min. put it on rinse and let drain and do the smell test again.

Smelly airconditioner

Smell is more than likely from standing water in the blower housing. In front of the pssenger under the hood, there is a box mounted on the firewall. That is the bloer housing. Under that housing is a drain that commonly plugs up from slime. Locate it and it should come off by squeezing it. You will see how it goes back in once you have it out.Clean the drain and woirk it to break its form. They have a tendancy to harden and stay closed. It should be soft enough to open by the fan pressure in the housing. Clean with your pinky as best you can in the box.

Mildew smell

water may not be draining completely out cause something is stuck in drainage area.

Other posts tell how to remove the top of washer to look between white outer tub and inner wash tub for sock or something else that is lodged.

Look at my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" for instructions on removing the black motor/white plastic housing from bottom of washer. I had a sock stuck in the very lowest part of the drainage system, water wouldn't drain out and couldn't see the sock until I removed the motor. I was able to pull the sock through the quarter-sized hole in bottom of tub and drain the remaining very stinky water. I used a dog dish (need a low edge bowl to fit under washer), tipped washer forward, then back and just kept emptying the dish.

Saw another post said don't tip washer back. There is something on backside of washer that you could break if you tip backwards. So, if you tip forward i guess you won't break anything--i haven't...yet.

Noticed a musty smell lately, and also had gray streaks on my clothes. Think the standing water that wouldnt' drain out has been my issue for some time now and when the motor burned out, I finally had to research the other issues.

SHU43 Bosch Built-in dishwasher

Try running citric acid (3 tablespoons) through.
You can get it from a drug store.
Or, run 1/2 cup vinegar through.
Do this in both the dish washer and the disposal.
After doing this try running some water into the disposal and then see if the next time you run the dishwasher if it still smells.
You could be having a problem with water not staying in the drain trap under your sink that is why if you run water and fill the trap, then you will find out if it was the dry trap that caused the smell from sewer gases backing up into the house trough the garbage disposal.
