Are all clients losing connections or just one? Can anyone ping the server when your client is getting 75% loss? If you are using a hub, what traffic is running during packet loss? You might need a packet trace to see what is going on. You also need to check your server stats when it is happening and when it is not and see what the difference is. Check the hub stats for errors on the ports. Is the server on the same hub with your client? These should help you find the problem if you get this info.

Dell inspiron 560 won't recognize network adapter

if there is no netework adapter in device manager or any device that is not instaled try checking in BIOS if it is enabled. sometimes after power loss bios is reset. if it is enabled in BIOS that short power outage probably killed your network adapter. you can add some PCI network adapter and solve your problem.

I have a Linksys WRT54G-AS, I can connect my wireless lap top, blackberry, PC, etc however can not connect wifi IPAD2 and ipod touch. My IPAD works at neighbors and public places...just not at home. Really...

Try This: Go to settings Select General Select Network Check that WiFi is on Choose Network If network is hidden then select other..there you will put in the SSID of your linksys and the type of security protocol that has been set
If Network name is showing then select the more arrow select renew lease if IP configuration settings are appearing If settings are not appearing select forget network
Go back to general settings and select network again select wi fi see if the network name appears go to the more arrow check network settings to see if the device has acquired ip settings
You may have to do this occasionally when connecting to various hotspots

Should the GWU523 get hot?

Most wireless adapters will get hot during use.

Obviously the cooler it stays, the better it will operate and the longer it will last, but as long as there is adequate air flow around the device for cooling and the ambient temperature is reasonable, it should not be a problem.

Excessive heat may cause occasional loss of signal / connection or even total failure eventually, but unless the unit becomes to hot to even touch, it should continue to operate normally.

Hope that was helpful.

Disconnects while working.

it may be as simple as the wireless connection signal strength, as doors, solid walls or any solid object that is in it's line will cause the signal to be very low, and at that point it will disconect from the internet as it is unable to send packets of information to your wireless card from the router. You can try your router in another telephone point that is nearer the pc to see if the connection drops, or use a different channel number which can be changed in the routers settings and the wireless cards properties as interference from other electrical appliances on the MHZ level can cause signal loss. Laptops tend to suffer less with the signal loss because they normally have a signal booster in the screen of the laptop within the wireless receiver ariel.
