To add 10Khz to your transmit frequency:

FIXED/OFF/+10KHz SWITCH:
The left position puts the radio on
one of the three fixed channels that is selected by the channel switch
(6,19, or 21). This over-rides the channel selected by the 40 channel
knob. The right position adds 10KHz to whatever frequency you are ON.
In the middle, both features are OFF.

Otherwise, a radio tech would be able to retune the frequency inside the radio.

After adding 10KHz to your frequency, use the SWR control to check the SWR of your antenna.
Here's how:
SWR CAL CONTROL: Normally this switch is set to “PO”. Then,
during transmission, the meter indicates output power. To read SWR,
rotate this knob during transmission until the needle moves to the “SET”
point on the SWR scale. Then, while still transmitting, set the R.B./SWR
switch to SWR.

Ideal SWR is 1 but you'll want to be as near one as possible. An SWR of 1.6 or greater will make ineffective use of your antenna.
If in doubt, a radio tech has the required meters and tools to adjust the SWR/Tuning of your antenna.

Just want to know where to set all the bottoms on this Galaxy DX44 V to be ableto talk to people on channel 19

With out a frequency counter to tell you what freq you are transmitting on there is another way.

Turn to channel 19. mess with the switches untill you hear truckers on the highway. then you have got it.

Otherwise pick up a frequency counter on ebay.

Receive fine. Transmit problems.

Hello breaker19261,

I believe that you have a malfunction in you transmitter circuitry. I would first try to determine which stage in the transmit section is defective. I would start looking at the section that is more closely connected to the power supply and work from there. If you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest that you get someone who does to do this for you. They will be able to track this problem down for you. Since most of the time in these cases I would suspect a faulty capacitor, have them check the DC levels first to see if there is a short or an open circuit.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Lost channels in a galaxy 66v cb radio

as far as the transmit frequency changing while you have the mic keyed this is normal, the transmit frequency is a little different than the receive, as far as the lost channels go you need to check the galaxy website and check to see if thier is any fixes listed. if none is listed then you can send the tech's a e-mail and tell them your problem and they will advise you on what to do.
