Kenwood KM-X1 hello. I have a kenwood KC-x1 and a KM-X1 but would like to upgrade to a new 7.1 or 7.2 system. Problem is with my passive subwoofers that obviously are powered from the KM-X1 and the new systems want a powered subwoofer. Can I use the sub output from the new unit to the input on the KM-X1 input side to power my Boston Acoustic passive subwoofer?

I suggest build new non-powered woofers with cabinets.
If you really get serious with your sound you'll need a workshop
for customizing it all. A converted garage is nice.
See mine in photo for an example:

If you have the existing woofer get one that has the same size and impedance, It may be 8 ohms impedance approx. 200mm dia. to fit inside the existing enclosure.

SOURCE: i have a sony htddw7600, every time i connect my sub amp via the control output of the speakers amp the whole systems displays PROTECT SUBWOOFER and shuts off the system. the amp lights up and the fan

it could be that the sub amp is using up too much power, causing it to trip out on you.

What size amp needed with a sony explod player?

this bandpass enclosure is rated peak power at 1200 watts . what this means is that each subwoofer in the is peaked at 600watts to make 1200 watts . what your looking for is to power up the subs with rms continuous wattage . you need an amp that will put out 400 to 500 rms a channel to run this sub enclosure at 800 to 1000 watts rms to keep the speaker from blowing

audiopipe apf1801
71671968.jpg this amp will give you 1 channel @ 4 ohm x1 350 watts 1 channel @ 2 ohm x1 900 wats 1 channel @ 1 ohm x1 1800 watts you would have extra power for better subs with more power later but you get 900 watts which when connected right would mean 450 watts per sub be perfect for you . i sell this for $320.99 in my store can shipp any where in usa to contact me [email protected]

Am trying to hook up an older kenwood home stereo system and dont know where all of the wires go. There is a model #kt-87synthesizer, km-207 amplifier, double cassette kx-77cw, stereo control amp kc-207...

Okay you are going to need 5 sets of RCA cables of 3 foot lengths. Ensure the KM-207 is adequately ventilated unless you want to burn up the KM-207. Next you will want to place the KC-207 near the KM-207 and connect the "Output to Amp" from the KC-207 to the "Input" to the KM-207. Now you may stack the KX-77CW, the DP-M97 and the KT-87 Tuner in no particular order. I tend to place them sideways so I may access them just in case I don't like how it is set up. Unless I can access them from the back. "Output" or "Play" from the DP-M207 goes into the "CD Input" in the back of the KC-207. "Output" or "Record" on the KC-207 "Tape 1" goes into the "Input or "Record" on the KX-77CW. "Output"or "Play" on the KX-77CW goes into the "Input" or "Play" on the "Tape 1" of the KC-207. "Output" on the KT-87 Tuner goes into the "Tuner Input" on the KC-207. Here is a trick to help you new stuff uses color codes such as White or Blue RCA cable ends, and Red RCA cable ends to indicate White or Blue for Left channel and Red for Right channel. Now you didn't indicate how to hookup speakers so I will not assume you are concerned about anything but using headphones for listening. I hope this has been of assistance.
