Most tablets available nowadays are Android-based ones. And most of them can be "factory reset" to leave them as brand new.
First, understand that if you continue, all the information you already added to your tablet will be erased. If you have any info you need to retrieve, please, do not go on and try something different, OK?
All right... Let's go on... The best way to know how to factory reset (or "hard reset", as it is also called) your device is to check in the Internet if there is already a description of the whole process. Assuming that you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet, search in Google for "how to factory reset a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet?" Follow the instructions and you will have your tablet running as if it had just been taken out of its box!
If you cannot find the instructions for your specific device, you could, then, try to check if it can enter recovery mode. First, completely switch off your tablet. Then, press at the same time and maintain pressed the "Power" button and the "Volume Up" button and wait for the device to power on, when you can release the keys. An "Android System Recovery" page should appear. If that is the case, you can navigate through the options using "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" keys. Go to the "wipe data/factory reset" option and activate it, pressing the "Power" button. Your tablet should reset (it will take a while).
If you didn't enter the reset page with those keys, repeat the process, this time pressing "Power" and "Volume Down" keys (different tablets have different combinations of keys to enter recovery mode.)
Hope you may find this information helpful!.
