Step1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
Step
2
Turn off the printer.
Step
3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step
4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step
5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step
6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step
7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step
8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step
9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

Check for debirs in the unit that could be tripping the jam sensor if not the sensor has gone bad.

SOURCE: Copystar CS-1815 waste toner

There are two screws on the drum unit. They are on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. Remove the screw from one side and take off plastic small side cover. Dump the waste toner. Do the same for the other side and then put it back together. Turn machine off then on and the error code should be gone......

Under included device open and close the lid. Unless throw, see the condition a sensor entry and leaving the paper - can be the sensors conk. Good luck

Keep getting paper jam message and I can't see any paper bits anywhere. Trying to open the machine from the back to look inside. Have removed the 4 screws on the back and still can't remove back panel....

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

I am getting a System Error E021, what does this mean?

Hi,
In my home office this error message came up, E021. I opened the Printer cover, closed it, unplugged and replugged and got a Paper Jam message. I removed the paper jam and did the cover/plug routine. Now I have a message CHECK PRINTER OPEN AND CLOSE COVER. But I can't find anything wrong! I have been searcing for an explanation of the error message online, but haven't found that either. my printer may be infested by aliens.
The best advice I can give is to reseat the various parts (drum and toners).

Thanks

Are you getting a error code? Most likely you have a problem with the lower fixing roller. That is if you are not getting a error code. With out a code you are looking to see if the LFR has poped out of place or that one of the tension releasers is broken in the up postion or one of the bushing is broken. You may have to replace the whole fixing unit.... Good Luck

Copystar 1815 problem!

Are you getting black or white lines on your copies when you use the adf? When you lift the adf up and look at the copy board glass for any dirt, next look at the small piece of glass next to it. The white out is on that part or the copyboard glass. Clean it off and you should be good to go. You would get paper jams if the white out is on the rollers. If you want to clean them use a rag with very little WD-40 on it and lightly rub the white out off. Yes, I did say WD-40, it is not just for squicks... Good Luck
