You will have to call a profesional locksmith who can make you a key for the door only to unlock it, i do auto lockouts for a living but we are unable to unlock them with standard tools for unlocking cars, I can pump open the door and hit the unlock switch but it will never unlock the door, the car alarm prevents this from doing so. Slim jims dont work on these also, nothing works, BMW actaullay requires us to tow them to the dealership whenever we get lockouts for BMW's. give the dealership your VIN number and they can send you another key for about $150, if you ca afford a BMW then u can afford $150 to get a new key.

On older cars you can remove back seat and sometimes get into trunk. Most newer cars have solid wall, but some have knock out panel behind fold down center armrest. Why not just use spare keys you hid in hide-a-key inside bumper? Or wife's keys? Or spare set you keep in the house? You could call a locksmith too.
boot = trunk.
does not all BMW, have a lever that opens trunk from inside car?
and if you cant just tilt down the rear seat. then you cant.
takes tools. to remove it.
lost your spare factory key?
or stranded....???
find the lever. on some cars is near drivers seat other dash ,and others glove box lever.
I dont have BWM books.
but the glove box operators guide covers this, did you lose that too?
The most common causes are:
1) Something bouncing around on the passenger seat confusing the occupancy sensor.
2) Someone jambing the seat belt buckle together at an odd angle. The older e36s were notoriously sensitive to that.
3) Someone has been working on the seats or the doors and turned the key on while something was unplugged.
4) Something is actually wrong in the system (rare).
The normal response is to read the code, reset the SRS system, and see if the light returns. Usually, it won't.
The bad news is that BMW changed their SRS system in the 2004 model year, and the aftermarket scanners won't reset a 2005. The dealer may gouge you to reset the light. A well-equipped independent shop can do it.
When I foolishly turned on the key to test my work on a window regulator on the wife's 2004 330, the BMW dealer wanted $180 to reset the SRS light. My favorite independent mechanic reset it for free. I took him a box of pastries from my favorite bakery.
Hi Edward your problem is probably the occupancy detector which is located in the passanger side front seat base. Its function is to detect wheather or not there is a passanger in the car.It will not allow the passanger air bag to deploy in the event of an accident if there is no passanger present.Unfortunately it cannot be repaired and will have to be replaced to do this remove the seat abd remove the seat cover and padding,[the detector is located in the seat base.
I would recommend that the air bag system is scanned to find out the fault before you buy a new detector.
It's never a great idea to dis connect any safety feature on a vehicle. But should you wish to do so here are two possible options. BMW may have a key operated switch (usually ignition) to disarm the passanger side airbag (usually in the case of rear facing child seat being fitted) OR if you manually disconnect the airbag (NOT reccommended) you will have to insert a resistance into the passanger bag circuit of equivelant to the air bag that was removed. In order to maintain the self diagnosis check system.
Hiya, same thing happened to me with my e39 2yrs ago. Keys were stuck in boot for 2days, in the end I sussed out how to get them.......you have to take off the reg plate, then, with a pencil, drag a line from where the key goes in down to the catch where the boot actually locks. Then you drill a hole anywhere along that line, this will give you access to the bar that connects the locking mechanism, just put a long nosed pliers into the hole and pull the bar, and bingo the boot opens!
as long as the srs light is not on the srs system is functioning properly. There is a passanger seat recognition senser and some vehicles are equiped with baby smart-which disables the passanger front air bag when a mercedes child seat is placed on the passanger front seat. More than likley the airbag is being manually switched off. there should be a place on the dash or center console to place the mechanical part of your smart key into and turn the air bag on or off.Once the system is reactivated clear the message in the cluster or turn off your ignition and remove the key and then reinsert key and turn on-this should clear the memmory of the cluster and your message center should not display any warnings
Call the RAC, if you want to do it yourself you can smash one of the rear fog/reverse lights, pull out the bulb holder and fish the keys out, a second hand light unit is around £20
