97 toyota rav 4, fuse for radio/lighter location

for the heater fan-yes the fuse and fusible link are under the hood
for the cig lighter-no only the 15A cig/radio fuse power it

radio has two fuses one for radio 7.5 amp and dome fuse to radio 15 amps check both fuses see what happens.

On the back side of the lighter there is a fusable link between the incoming power wire and the metal tab that connects power to the lighter. This is a very small wire, bent 90 degrees, between two tabs that are mounted on the same small screw. It looks like the incoming power tab and the power to the lighter would be connected, but they are insulated from each other on the screw. If the fusable link is blown, you will have power at the power connector on the back of the lighter, but no power to the center terminal inside the lighter.

Pull one out and see if is blown. The difference between a blown fuse and a good fuse will be abviious.

You most likely blew a fuse. Locate the fuse panel and look for the fuse that protects the radio and cig lighter (aux power). be sure to replace it with the same amperage rating as the original one.

Are you sure no fuse was blown? there are more than 1 fuse box (in engine and under dashboard).

Yes there is also a fuse box under the hood. The schematic for fuses should be in the fuse box cover.

you may have a blowen fuse, i know was working on the a radio today and blew the fuse, located under the dash board

When you open the fuse panel it's the lower left-hand fuse, all of the fuses are labled. It's not the same fuse as the dome light.

i would try to unplug the clock and the radio change the fuse and see if the fuse blows.
