Why does my waste oil heater burner shut off after about 15-20 seconds of running?

Depends on if you have to manually reset the primary controller. You may have a bad CAD cell, primary controller, backdraft of exhaust, or high temperature limit tripping due to overheating from either a loose belt, bad blower motor or capacitor. If there is a fuel filter, that may also be somewhat stopped up.

Waste Oil Heater Clean Burn CB1800/CB ()AH

Open the fuel supply line into a container while it's pumping (running) and trying to start. When the fuel begins to run clear (no bubbles), then close the fuel line and it will light if all is in order.

How do I add oil to help heater warm better??

they are a sealed heater you can't add oil to get more heat, if you can must be a new type i haven't seen, but if not hot enough throw away and buy a heater that works they work on the principal that an element heats the oil and runds on an internal thermostat to control temperature of oil, your element may be starting to deteriate the same as hot water you only notice with hot water as it starts to not heat the water as much and you feel this in a shower or bath but you won't notice the same in oil heater it won't heat as it has and it may also be the thermostat, inside heater i wouldn't even bother trying to repair waste of time and money i would buy a proper working heater prefrably one that could be fixed to go better after its starts to deteriate a lttle

Oil burner/waste oil heater not firing

Don't know what model Reznor Waste Oil heater you have but I happen to own a Reznor RA235. 235,000 BTU. If there is no oil being pumped up I would first check to see that the filter isn't clogged where the oil sucks up from the tank. There should be a gauge on yours with different color codes as to when the filter must be changed or cleaned. I already had to replace the pump on my Reznor RA235 as the pump went bad a couple of years ago. You can tell if it is pumping or not. There is also a filter built right outside of the pump on mine and one up on top of the unit that need to be cleaned at times. The manual shows all of this.
