Question about Rotary Thumlers Tumbler Polisher +media, rocks

Open Question

We have a brand new Thumler AR-1 rock tumbler. I can't get it level or straight enough to turn without scraping the sides of the barrell. I have black rubber flakes all over everywhere and not it's squeaking. The instructions said to be sure cradled in plates of base with anti-rotation dog in groove of nylon bearing in up position. There were no pictures....I don't know where or what these are?

SOURCE: Rolling Stones Rock Tumbler - no rubber ''O'' ring

Nothing high tech here. Try it without the o-ring. If the water does not start to leak out in the first 3 to 5 minutes of tumbling you will be ok. Stop it every day to check the water level.

Set the whole thing on a cookie sheet in case it does leak when you are not watching - you don't want a bunch of rock dust and polishing grit on your table or floor in the morning.

You will not damage anything by trying it without the o-ring.

I received a national geographics tumbler for Christmas when I tried to use it the lid comes loose and spills water and stuff all over.

-Possibly too cheap and make form out side of USA.
Don't use it. Every time you use it. It'll do the same thing.
Or you can try couple more times to see what it'll do.

Good luck

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN ROCKING CHAIR CUSHIONS

If your rocking chair cushions are looking weary and old, you don't need to buy a new rocking chair. If you can sew, follow these simple tips and re-upholster your existing cushions or make new ones altogether. Your friends will be congratulating you on your brand new rocking chair.

1. Draw a design for your rocking chair cushion. If you are new to this, keep it simple with a rectangle or square design.

2.
Measure the area for the cushion, taking both length and width and then add 3 cms to each, and this will be the amount of fabric you need.

3. When you buy or cut out the cushion padding, use the original measurements ie without the extra 3cm you added on to the material.

4. Your padding material should be between 1 and 1 and a quarter inches thick.

5. Now cut out your cushion fabric. You need 2 pieces for each cushion. Make sure you keep the lines straight and that they are both exactly the same .

6.
Start at a corner and sew a piping (double seam) along the edge. Then sew the 2 connecting sides to that new seam and this should form a pocket that is connected on 3 sides but has an open top.

7.
Now stuff the cushion. Don't rush this part. Make sure none of the foam is folded over or squashed up inside the cover.

8. Now sew the final seam together. It can be a bit tricky so make sure it's lined up properly.

9.
Once you've finished the basic cushion you can always add extra details such as trimming or tassles.

Enjoy!

2002 chryler cr pt key won.t turn

Make sure the steering wheel is straight, if it is off to one side when you parked, there is tension on lock. Try rocking or pulling the steering wheel while turning the key. It is possible that the tumblers in the lock are bad though

We have a rock tumbler and have lost the instructions. How long are we to tumble each stage? I assume that the sand goes inside the tumbler with the rocks. We need some directions.

Fill the barrel most of the way with stones, add coarse grit, add enough water to just cover the stones and then clean where the lid seals carefully. Seal it up and run it for a week, dump everything into a colander and rinse. Don't run that mud down your drain because it will plug it mightily, run it outside.

Do the same process with the fine grit, run it for another week and rinse and admire.

My daughter received an Edu Science Rock Tumbler for Christmas but has lost the instructions. Where can we request for a new set of instructions?

Wow that is a nice one you have, it is probably quieter with the plastic cover. I use to tumble my rocks either in the basement or in an empty drawer in my dresser to sort of block out some of the noise. The one I had when I was younger was probably the first do it yourself old Smithsonian rock tumbler. I'd say that was probably one of the best gifts that I have ever received.
Well, first, you put the bag of rocks that you want to tumble in the tumbler. Make sure it only fills the barrel 2/3-3/4 full or you may have to extend polishing time.
then, usually you use the thickest to the thinnest grit in that order. You put the thickest grit in first and let the rocks tumble from 7-10 days (for optimal polishing). You will do this for each grit you use.

Make sure there is no grit transferred from one step to the next. Hope this helps :)

We lost the creatology rock tumbler instruction manual and cant do anything with out it

Hi, We got the same tumbler this Christmas. You might be able to get an manual from service@bhsciencetech.com
To get started though, Step 1 takes 2-4 days, step 2 4-7 days, step 3 2hrs, step 4 2 hrs.
To start day 1
1) rinse stones with water and fill barrel with no more than 8 oz of stones
2) Add step 1 course Grinding Powder
3) Add enough water to cover stones
4) tighten (snugly) cap on barrel to prevent leaking
5) Be sure barrel is clean & dry. Fit barrel into tumbler (fits correctly only in 1 direction). Cover barrel with safety dome.
6) Attach DC plug to tumbler and plug in.
7) Push on/off button
8) Push # of days button timer.

Extras
They suggest using a lubricant on the inside rim of lid to help removal.
Once you start the tumbling do not turn it off and leave it off - It will harden like cement inside the barrel.
It is loud so place it on a towel to help reduce noise and put it where it won't bother anyone.
Good Luck and Have Fun

The ignition switch seized up. how do you remove the tumbler

you will have to split the ignition barrel, using either a hammer and small thin chisel or an old screw driver, if you split both side opposite the barrel will fall out, it will in some cases leave the barrel stalk in the black box (the electrical black plastic box at the other side of the barrel housing) to remove this turn with a screwdriver to either position 1 or position 2, at the front of the barrel housing is a release pin hole which will need a small allen key or pot rivet pushing into it to release the barrel stalk, remove with pliars or with flat blade screw drive, place key in new barrell hold thumb over secure pin holding it into the new barrel, then gently turn key 90 degrees, and offer into barrel housing, ensure the secure pin is at all time still into the barrel, slide the barrel into houseing slowly until you mate up the barrel stalk to the black box, and slide in until you hear the secure pin click into place, turn key back to zere and remove slowly, the new barrel is fitted. should take about an hour from start to finish, if it was not seized no more than 15 min to complete. hope this helps.

Dryer tumbler barrel loose

Depending on what brand a model. This sounds as though the guide roller or guide roller shaft are bad and are in need of replacement. It could also be the tub glides are bad. If you will give me the brand and model number I can probably tell how to check this and repair.
