Fridge motor is loud when doors closed stops when open-3.5 yrs old- first time same problem fixed with replacing sensor 2/08 now sensor broken again???

I have an lg bottom freezer LRFC22750ST. This is the 2nd time we hear the fridge getting really loud. Starts by humming when doors closed stops when open now fan/motor is loud when closed still stops when open. The fridge is 3.5 yrs old- 1st time feb 2008 we had it serviced by calling lg canada they replaced the sensor telling us we open our fridge too much? I think the right side seal on the fridge appears to be not as strong as the left and maybe when closing the doors the right side with the weaker seal is left open and the motor starts overworking??? Please help!!!

When the filter freezes up, the outside casing may have cracked and will leak water when you dispense water through the door.  You will need to have the filter replaced and that should take care of the problem.  But the filter should never have frozen in the 1st place.  You will need to call a qualified LG technician to see what's going on inside the refrigerator.

SOURCE: Freezer Door Popping Open

Look at the bottom of the freezer door, there is a little plastic stopper there. It may be worn out or broken. When you close the door this is what holds it there. Start there first.

SOURCE: Loud Freezer Motor noise

I don't usually buy the service plan but I did for this unit (hey it's gen 1). The service guy said he has seen this problem quite a bit and that LG created a new RCM board to fix it (part# BBR34917104). Apparently the OEM board didn't detect the ice build up on the fan motor very well. I had the new board installed two days ago and defrosted the freezer. So far so good, I'll post again if I have any further issues.

SOURCE: LG EF FF Error

I found another post that suggested the following. Did it and found wires/connections frozen with a huge piece of ice.

Make sure unit is unpluged!

Removed baskets (2), unscrewed back panel of freezer. A little tricky to get out. There will be electrical connections attached to the panel but you can disconnect/reconnect these. Mine were on the top, left corner. I used a blow dryer to melt the ice chunck. Dried up all the water, replaced back, baskets.

I then took the panel off the very back of the unit as the melted ice had drained into the drip pan. I cleaned the drain pan of water, dust. They don't make this an easy task for the homeowner. Replaced the back, plugged it back in and all is working again. Don't know for how long until this happens again. But....no more LG products for this homeowner.

We remodeled the kitchen 2 years ago and went stainless steel. My 16 year old Kitchenaide is still running in the garage. Guess I'll go back to that model when the LG bits the dust.

My door alarm on Kenwood fridge/freezer beeps when I close the door and freezer temp flashes -88 before going back

I have a Kenwood tall fridge (KTL60X15) which developed similar faults. It was beeping every time the door was opened (the display showed 88 and all other buttons were lit) and it would beep again when closed. Turns out the wiring from the fridge body to the door had worn out and by the time I discovered the problem 3 of the 5 wires had broken. The wiring can be round under the plastic covers at the top of the door and at the top of the fridge body.. I replace the wiring which was easy to do as it comes as a wiring harness kit (HK1495740) and adjusted how the wiring goes across the top hinge by making a small modification to the plastic covering on the top of the fridge body. So hopefully it won't wear out (at least now I can see it and keep an eye on it).

Hi,I bought a fisher and paykel refrigerator E450r model for over 2 yrs now. Once you open the door, you can hear a beep sound. You can also hear this sound while the door is open and even when the door is...

I unfortunately bought the F & P 450R upright fridge with the matching freezer, recommended to us by Winnings. Expensive and possibly the worst ever appliance purchase I have made. The door handle design is pathetic and once again today, has come apart. The fridge constantly freezes up which then affects the fan, which in turn stops the fridge getting cold. To date, we have had the F & P service out, he first said he needed to get it back to the factory and we'd be up for about $900. After we advised that wasn't happening, he replaced the control unit, which had didn't clear the problem (although still cost me $300). Having no confidence in F & P, we contacted a fridge mechanic with a good name. He closed his eyes when he saw the brand and mumbled, Kiwi's revenge. Long story short, over 3 visits he, adjusted the inadequate door sensor, refitted a temp sensor which had broken from its poorly designed plastic holder, replaced all the sensors and in the end said sorry, but you have bought a lemon. I now have a choice of buying a new fridge which wont match the freezer, buy a new fridge and freezer, even though the freezer is fine, or continue with what we do now, turn the fridge off every other day for 4 or 5 hours to defrost it. My solution, do not go near Fisher and Paykel, the service and machines are just not up to it.

When doors are opened it stops. Ice is forming unnaturally in the

It sounds like you may have a bad evaporator fan motor or broken blade.

Another cause could be a failed defrost system component. The would cause a build up of ice and frost and the fan blade could be coming in contact with the frost or ice.

The fan stops running when the doors are opened on this model to prevent the circulation of warm air.

Frigidaire fridge door makes a loud popping sound

You need to take the door off the hinges and remove the lower hinge plate from the bottom of the door. This is where I found my popping problem. The black bushing with the 3 bumps and dips on it is loose in the plate going into the door. I took black eletrical tape and rapped it around the part that goes into the plate to tighten the bushing up so it wouldn't turn anymore. ( This was a temp fix to see if the popping would go away) 3 Weeks later and still working. If the sound comes back I will put some double sided sticky back foam on it. Both doors were doing this on my fridge, and now its as quite as a mouse. I hope this fix works for you.

I have a Samsung RS21DPSM side by side fridge under 2 years old and the other day a loud noise was coming from fridge Sounds like a fan as when you open fridge door it grinds to a stop) compartment and...

There is a design problem with this model. The fridge section is icing over due to a design defect and the noise you can hear is due to the fan on the motor driving against the ice. Eventually the motor will be stopped from running and the fuse will blow in your plug. Contact Samsung and they should replace the defective parts with a fix.

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.
