You take the .wav from each track from mr-8 and insert to desired track in your software. Use a CF Card reader to make this easier.

My Fostex mr8 hdd "full"

If you can reformat the drive after dumping out anything you want saved MIGHT fix the problem...

The unit MAY not be able to tolerate fragmenting when you delete a snippet here and there... It may require large blocks of contiguous space.

I have a Fostex MR-8 MKII 8-track recorder, and as soon as I turn it on it says 'card error' and 'illegal format'.My compact flashcard is 2GB Sandisk, how can I solve this problem?

First you can format the flashcard FAT-32 on your computer. If that does not help your card maybe broken or the brand is not supported. Than try to use another brand. Kingston and Transcend always make te best choice.

Fostex MR 8 HD\CD adding treble and bass?

It APPEARS that the MR8 does NOT include the ability to EQ. They have delay effects and the like built in, but no EQ.

To answer your question then, you would need to have an EXTERNAL EQ unit and loop the vocal through that unit to do EQ to do it right.

When mastering, the "powerful/natural/and bright would be filters that will emphasize the bass (powerful) or the treble (bright) but these are really not EQ's and you can ONLY choose one at a time.

Importing track to Fostex MR-8MK 2

I just got an MR-8 and had the same problem. Google and download Wav Manager...convert your files to mono (.wav) or else it won't export. I searched everywhere for several days and stumbled upon the solution woohoo!!!

My pc says it does not recognize my Fostex MR8-MK11 when hooked to USB

The drivers must to be installed

Do this:

1) BE SURE that you have been set the right driver on your computer
2) If not go to USB "unknow device" (My Pc >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager)
and select Properties >> Update Driver

3) Insert the CD of MR8 or select the path in your computer where the drivers are

4) Install the driver

PS: If you are installing the driver from internet, "save" the driver to your computer first
