The "rm ed007" remote that you mentioned is most likely a universal remote control, which can be programmed to control multiple devices, including your Sony DVD player and Sony Bravia TV.
To program the remote to control your Sony DVD player, you can follow these steps:
Turn on your Sony DVD player.
Locate the code for your Sony DVD player in the code list provided with the universal remote.
Press and hold the "Code Search" or "Setup" button on the universal remote until the indicator light turns on.
Enter the code for your Sony DVD player using the number buttons on the remote.
Test the buttons on the remote to make sure that they are controlling the Sony DVD player as expected.
To program the remote to control your Sony Bravia TV, you can follow these steps:
Turn on your Sony Bravia TV.
Locate the code for your Sony Bravia TV in the code list provided with the universal remote.
Press and hold the "Code Search" or "Setup" button on the universal remote until the indicator light turns on.
Enter the code for your Sony Bravia TV using the number buttons on the remote.
Test the buttons on the remote to make sure that they are controlling the Sony Bravia TV as expected.
Remote codes are purely based on the make of the television and it is irrelevant what the remote is. However, I would say that no one these days buys universal remotes. You buy a Facsimile Remote which is an exact copy of the original.
You don't need codes for the television. You need the codes used by the Universal remote. Search the internet for your RCA universal remote, use it's model number.to find the user manual.
The codes are there.
