the only dish detergents that work right now are the miele tabs, and finish has a product called finish all in 1 powerball. everything else on the market right now will leave your dishes dirty, and will leave residues behind making your glasses cloudy and your dishes dull. describe the noise better and i will try to help.
it's generally not a good idea to put really greasy items in a dishwasher along with relatively clean items such as glassware and plates and cutlery, as most recent good quality dishwashers come with a soil sensor that ends the wash cycle once the dishes appear clean, and all the grease from your frying pan will cause the soil sensor to take longer to detect clean water.
Load the appliance with dirty dishes, placing soiled pots and pans on the lower rack where they will be subjected to the most vigorous cleaning. Glassware and dishwasher-safe plastics should go on the top rack. It is not necessary to rinse dishes before loading them in the Hotpoint appliance, unless the dishes have been sitting for awhile and the food particles have dried.
Fill the detergent compartment with your preferred brand of dishwashing detergent, and add glass rinse solution to the rinse reservoir on the inside of the door if your model is equipped with one, then close the door to lock in place.
Select the cycle you wish to use and press the button. For pots and pans, use the heavy-duty cycle. Normal wash is fine for dishes and utensils.
Save on your energy bill by running the dishwasher only when it is full and by allowing the dishes to air dry instead of using the heat dry function on the appliance.
Most dishwashers have a soil separator which separates the soil from the water while it's washing. When a wash cycle is over a valve opens in the separator to allow the soil to go down the drain. If it's not working properly the washer will leave a film or food particles on the dishes. Post your model number and I'll try to find a diagram which shows you your parts.
Try changing the type and brand of detergent. We had similar problems with a Maytag dishwasher which was solved by the above. The glasses in particular seemed to have a sand-like texture in the debris, yet drinking water showed no such problem. Hope this helps!
check the holes on the sprayer for the upper rack, somtimes they get pluged up and the top rack dishes wont get sprayed off. if they are pluged remove them and wash in a sink
Try putting a cup of white vinegar in the empty dishwasher & running it on fast wash. Should eliminate film; do you have hard water where you live? If so lime build up could be the problem.
Hope this helps.Cheers.
You may be getting sand in from the supply lines. Fill a clear glass container from the sink a few times and look at the bottom for sand particles. You may be getting sand from a pool filter? Remove the filter from the faucet head (it should unscrew) and look for sand particles in it. You may not be getting them in the kitchen sink if the dishwater inlets are below the sink as the particles may be sinking to the bottom of the pipes. You may need to put a filter in the dishwasher inlet. Try filling the dishwasher by hand with bottled water once and then see if the sand is still there. If so, it probably comes in through the water supply.
there is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishes. the dishes look dirty because your water has a lot of calcium and magnesium in it making them appear cloudy or dirty. the dishwasher filter reduces those minerals and my dishes look perfect now. no more dirty and grimy looking dishes. i also dont waste time washing them by hand before and after the dishwasher. hahaha you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. use code DFMTEN and you will get 10% off. it fits right under your sink and is very affordable. you will be glad you bought this product. thanks
