Just left right and connect earth to the earth to one of the rca connection, but buy good ones 60euro/two)which don't connect to the metal in the middle. I still wonder what he mens by sound at one side. :)

Insignia 55e560a11 connect to Polk sound bar. Using stereo audio cables in out video plugs on side of tv to insignia hdmi to rca converter to hdmi outlet on sound gar. no sound

Depending on the age of the TV, I have found that the RCA sockets on TV's will NOT produce an audio out signal. Since they were not designed to do so.
If the TV has an HDMI then that can be converted to produce the left and right channels. But if it has not got an HDMI, it should have and SCART socket, which will also produce the left and right channels.

Cutt the 3.5mm ********. You will need to cutt the cable about 10cm from the plug end to make certain you clear the damaged area. Buy a new Jack. You will need to solder the wires on. You will find when you have baired back the cable two coloured wires and two earths. The earths fit together on the metal flange that comes out of the main body of the plug. The coloured wires go on the the two smaller flanges (left and right channels). If you get them wrong way round reverse them you won't do any damage. Make certain the earths don't come into contact with the R & L channels wires or terminals and the left or right don't touch each other. The T shaped end on the large flange is to grip the cable body, bend the tabs to grip the cable.

My RCA Scenium HDLP50W151 TV makes is making a loud whining sound that varies in degree. I have picture and sound but the noise is beginning to drown out the TV volume

All projection TVs for RCA are DLP TVs, with that in mind these TVs have a lamp inside that produces white light. The color wheel is the one in charge of giving color to that light. Regularly the color wheel last between 2 to 5 years depending on the daily tv use. Most of the time when the central barring of the wheel is loose, unstable, or out of place it will cause the edge of the wheel to make contact with the housing, producing that whining, whirling, screeching or hissing sound. These sounds can either produce just a annoying sound when watching tv or can cause the tv to shut off. When this happens you’ll have to replace it, if you want to know where to buy, you can look in ebay, there are many parts you can get at very good bargains, the only thing is that you buy at a high risk of the part not working ( I had a bad experience). The other option is to buy at an electronics store online dedicated at selling tv parts, some can help you trouble shoot your problem and others may have tech support over the phone (personal recommendation: Discount-Merchant.com ). And last remember to search your part by part number, NOT by model number, two TVs with same model numbers but assembled on different dates ( different generation TVs ) will have none compatible tv parts inside, so be very carful.

Hi It will be an earth problem or even if your speaker wires or rca leads are running along side any power wires from your car, Find the most chunky metal part of your dash, clear all paint away, make the earth wire from your head unit less than 1 foot from you head unit and make sure its not conected to any earth that run back to your cars power system. if it still makes the noise make sure your speaker wires or rca leads are not running along the cars power wire they will pick up feed from them. make sure your head unit is not earthed to your cars arial silly as it sounds the arial plug in is one of your main earths to your cars audio system. hope you work it out

Sound car amplifier

this could be couple of reasons

no.1
check that you havent run the rca's down same side as power lead as this causes a whining sound

no.2
Check your earthing point make sure its suitable

no.3
Check your auternator maybe faulty

there is a easy solution to this and thats to by a rca ground loop isolator which filters out unwanted noises

My sub is making a humming sound

Hey austinpippen,
The noise you are experiencing is due to your rca plug shorting out causing a loop, in outher words, bad earth.
Try getting a noise filter, you take your rca plug and plug it into the noise filter, then wire it to the amp!
you can try a ground loop isolator or relocating your ground [earth].
I hope this helps you out.
Fingers crossed.
