Continually returns to demo mode

When fully charged up and in use, my TomTom XL keeps returning to demo mode every two minutes and the screen has to be touched continuously en route, in order to view map. I have tried resetting the device and turning off the demo option, but this has still not resolved the problem. I have connected the device to my PC, using the USB lead, but nothing happens and the device will not allow me to move beyond the 'device belongs to' screen. Any suggestions would be welcome. Kind regards, Sue Berry

I had to contact TomTom to answer this, their advice was:
On your device tap the bars that show the strength of the satellites. Then top right tap the clock and hold for 30 seconds.

I tried this but it didn't make any difference to me, but I thought it may help other users. I'll let you know when I get any further advice.

Sean

I have finally got advice from TomTom that has solved the problem, their advice was: "On the route directory of your device you will have a yellow folder either 'Demo' or 'Script' please delete this folder then try again." I have done this by accessing the files on the TomTom via Windows Explorer whilst it is connected via a USB cable and it has solved the problem!

    I hope it helps you.

    Sean

Tomtom constantly returns to Demo Mode

Hi,

My Tom Tom XL was doing the same. After several minutes it would revert to a demo and you would have to tap the screen to make it disappear, but would come back a few minutes later. I spoke with Tomtom Customer service, and the guy on the phone told me i have to plug it into the computer, go into the tomtom from My Computer, and delete a folder names Scripts. After deleting the folder, it's now working perfectly.

This should fix your problem :)

if you need any help you can email me: [email protected] and i can talk you through.

Cheers

I have a tomtom xl 330 after 2 minutes of using it. it goes to demo mode. how do i stop it

I have a GO630 that had the same problem. To fix it, Plug it into your computer and look up the files on your Tomtom. If the file titled "Script" is there, deleate it and that should fix the demo popup problem.

Try pressing the reset button, check your documentation for the location...but it's at the connection interface.
