The Delta shower has a rotational limit stop designed so that when another fixture is activated, such as a toilet or dishwaser, the water does not go to extreme hot or cold. The reason for this is that the Delta shower unit is not pressure balanced or does not contain an anti scald device. The pdf document below will show how to adjust the water tempature if you feel it is too cold. Please use caution as it is probably set the way it is to prevent scalding.
that is the way they are made. they are pressure balanced to reduce the risk of scallding.
however there is an adjustment that will allow a little more hot water. if you remove the handle, there is a small plastic disk, remove that, under that you will see a small ring with what looks like gear splines... pull out slightly and turn counter clockwise a few notches. reinstall the plastic disk and test.
if you don't get enough hot water, adjust again. only adjust a couple of notches at a time. you don't want to scald yourself in the shower.
Remove handle and check to see if there is a dial to take out to repostion back in to adjust cold and hot water flow. take it out and move it a little put handle on and turn on see if it changes,
That is a graduated water mixer valve, and it sometimes has a little white water restrictor blocking flow from your hot water port. See if that was left in by removing the handle with all water shut off to the valve and reattach then try again. This can also happen if you have a tankless water heater because pressure controls heat. Typically a Tankless water heater system will require little, to no cold water to your bathtub valve because of the heavy water flow at the tap. Remember, flow equals temperature. Less flow = more heat, more flow = less heat.
Hi,
You probably need to adjust the faucet to give you hotter water.
The other problem can be low water pressure... if your cold water pressure is low or there is a restriction in the line, it willl also restrict the hot water flow.
Follow these instructions to pull the whole valve assembly out and check the water flow of the cold water with out anything in the valve body. This will tell you if the problem is in the piping of the valve.
Page down to near the bottom and look for the PDF attachments. They will give you the details you need to take the faucer apart and amke the neccesary ajustments.
I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!
It is due to the water pressure. You may need to install a pressure relief valve at your main cold water line, so you can set the water pressure and prevent your valve from vibrating, that is it it is annoying you,.Otherwise, just let it be..
Sounds like you need to replace the inner cartridge. You can shut your water off at the street meter if your whole house does not have its own external shut off. Be sure to relieve the pressure before popping out the cartridge.
