You phoned microphone needs to be replaced. The speaker and Mic are two different components and works independently as well. IF people on the receiving end cant hear you, then your microphone is not fuctioning. Take it ti yiur dealer if it is still under warrantee or a reputable repair shop to replace the microphone
If the person cannot hear you then, either your microphonedriver not installed or not working OR the microphone is not configured inSkype. To test your microphone then click on Start - All Programs - Accessories -Entertainment - Sound recorder. Then record your voice and then play it back.If this is OK then the microphone need to be configured in Skype. To configure the microphone - Open Skype - Tools - Options -Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.
First test your microphone to see if it is working properly. Click on Start All Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound recorder and record your voice and play it back. If it does not work, then reinstall the microphone driver and test again. When the microphone works then open Skype and configure the Audio settings. Make sure the volume for your microphone is turned on. Here's how:
Click the 'Start' menu in your taskbar, and highlight 'Settings.'
Select 'Control Panel.'
Locate 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the Control Panel, and double-click the icon.
Open the 'Volume' tab, and click 'Advanced...' in the 'Device volume' section.
Look for 'Microphone' in the 'Volume Control' box that opens,
and make sure your microphone is enabled and the volume is high enough.
Close the 'Volume Control' box, and then click 'OK.'
If you're using an external microphone, and the volume is set properly,
check that the device is securely connected to your computer.
And if that doesn't solve the problem, make sure your microphone of
choice is selected in the 'Output - speakers or headset' drop-down menu
in the 'Audio' section of your Google Talk Settings.
The problem seems to be with your friend's setup, and possibly yours. Try adjusting mic levels and volume levels to where they don't interfere with each other. Ex.--you talk , they hear you at a volume that is too loud and it gets into their mic, creating a loop....feedback. You do the same too. Trial and error. Hope this is helpful.
The person I am speaking with does not hear me (He is deaf). The microphone function does not appear to be working. I have adjusted
the volume and that's not the problem (You must speak as well). I have plugged both jacks (microphone and speaker) into my PC hard drive
and am using my PC to talk on Skype (You cant plug even a single jack in the hard drive). Problem solved!
If your X3's microphone is working, you should be able to hear yourself in the headset when you talk into it. Plug the chat-controller cable in both the headset and the controller, then talk into the X31 mic. Can you hear yourself in the headset? If yes, then the microphone is OK but you probably need a new chat-controller cable. If not, then the microphone may be broken and you should contact Turtle Beach tech support at [email protected].
