Trying to install my web cam

Ive installed the disk im using windows xp but when i try to put the cam on its saying cam not found

1st You download Webcam Driver.
install my web cam After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

I have a microsoft lifecam vx-6000, and have instaled the software for it, my computer says new found web cam, but when i try to open it, im told the soft ware cant be found, and told to put the disk back...
1. You possibly will need to go to the manufacturers web site and download the the latest drivers for your Lifecam which may not be backward compatible with your operating system (Windows).
2. If you are running Windows 7 you may want to run the "compatibility wizard" to see if your camera's software will run in another Windows operating system mode Ex. Windows 98 or XP \

Web cam says to close other video streaming application before it can proceed but there are no applications open that I know of.
try and install the right driver for this device ...that's why it says this ...it sees all wrong ...the issue with windows 7 is that does not have drivers for cameras or elder devices....if it is a built in camera ....just try to get in touch with the manufacturer and see if there is any drivers for the camera ...also ...you can try the driver for vista on 64 ...usually works ..but this is not a rule...
if there is no other chance ..until the driver will appear on the internet ...just get another camera with driver compatible with this operating system ...or roll back to vista or xp ...cause this oS is not that great anyway ...its slow...hard t use...and strange...

Try borrowing a compatible HDD instead of buying a third one for testing and check if the same error exists. Try also using an external DVD drive to see if your internal CD-ROM is defective. Try also using another Windows XP CD installer. You can also use other OS installation CD to check it. Otherwise, there is something wrong with your lappy's motherboard due to tear and wear, heat, vibration, misuse and shock.

Hello,

If the drive properties in show a full drive, then the install of xp probably has taken most or all of the hard drive space.

According to http://www.microsoft.com/middleeast/windows/windowsxp/home/evaluation/sysreqs.aspx
the operating system needs at least 1.5G.
