CD player that doesn't play

I have a Panasonic CD player in my car (CQ-C1313NW).  All was working well, but while playing a CD today it kept muting then going back to playing music.  Now all I have on the display is Muting 0 and can no longer get CDs or the radio to play.  I have tried pressing the mute button, turneing the radio and the car off but to no avail, leaving the radio on but turning the car off and have tried pressing other buttons.  None of the buttons seem to work and I am at a loss as to what to do now.  Can you help?

I have exactly the same problem. Its been working fine for a year but now it just shows 'Muting 0' and none of the buttons work. I've disconnected and reconnected it and it is still the same. The orange wire isn't connected to anything so I can't see how it is causing the problem. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

    Thanks

When I sold my old car I forgot to take out the ISO cable thing that I got with the radio.
I bought a new one, but all my radio did was show MUTING 0 on the screen.
I gently took the orange wire out of the ISO connector, connected it and it worked!

I HAVE PANASONIC CQ-C700U STEREO PLAYS ON ALL

are you running the rest of your speakers off an amp? if so, it sounds like you have the amp remote wire connected to the power antenna wire. on some radios there is an amp remote wire and a power antenna wire. the power antenna wire loses power when not listening to the tuner (radio). usuall there is a solid blue and a blue with white stripe. the blue with a white stripe should be amp turn on.

Wont play cds

Hello ly2004sxt,

You do not need a code to play CD's in a Panasonic CQ-C7301U. The player handles the standard CD format and also plays burned CD's in WMA or MP3 formats. However, burned CD's in WMA format that contain copyrighted music are not playable. In this case the display will show "PROTECTED".

Hope this helps.
