Screen flashes only for a split-second (as a second display for an iMac)

I am using an LG Flatron L1750S as a second display for my 20" Aluminum iMac running OSX 10.4.9 with an ATI Radeon HD2400 128 MB of VRAM. I seem to have a problem. The display will flash on for a split second every time I turn it on, then I will go off. The green power light is still on, and It has not gone into standby mode. I feel like this is a problem with the monitor itself, because the menu will not come up either. Its just black... Screen flashes only for a split-second the goes off and green power led stays on but no picture, please help

The inverter is faulty.If your Monitor is powered by a mains'kettle' type lead,then it MAY be repairable,provided you can find someone to do it.If you have an external power supply,then the chances are you have a separate inverter,and it is doubtful whetther you can find the fault or a replacement circuit board....which is why we have become a throw away nation !!

Adjust screen brightness

Press the OSD ("On Screen Display") button on the bottom-front of the monitor. Use the other nearby buttons to "navigate" through all the settings, to select "Brightness", and to move the level UP/DOWN.
Wait a few seconds, and the OSD will vanish, by itself.

PC boots for seconds then NOTHING APPEARS SCREEN

Check to see if you have inadvertently hit the CRT button which turns off your screen to turn on an externally connected screen even if there is no external screen plugged in. OR you could have a bad (Back-light) or (Inverter)

How do I Open / disassemble LG Flatron

Remove all the screws from the screen that you can, check for screws under all soft objects and labels, after all screws are removed, use a flat screwdriver or a case opener tool to start snapping the display cover open, it is hold in place with plastic clips, these will clip open but be carefull not to break any.

Lg flatron blank screen

t certainly seems like the monitor is not getting a signal. Did this happen after you changed something, or just on normal boot up?
It could be the video card that has failed.
Also, check the pins on the connector; sometimes they can get pushed in.
If you can, try swapping out the video card or use the monitor on another computer.
Good luck,

LG Flatron L1750S LCD won't display anything...

Hi,

To your concern, a couple of suggestions:
  • if you could try again a reputable electronics service center/shop, pls mention for them to look at the CCF (cold cathode florescent) lamps, the inverter and/or the main board;
  • the blinking light is significant, it could indicate loss of video signal or internal protection kicking in;
  • possibly heat related, check for any of the capacitors bulging or leaking.
If they would reference a service manual or a schematic diagram, pls relay that it is chassis CL-82 for an LG L1750S. Foremost to check would be for the presence of both the 12 and 5 volts,.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
