Our microwave (Model JVM1339BW02) began coming on (fan only, no microwaves being emitted) when we opened the door. Then a week later, it just stopped operating entirely, but the display/clock was still lit. I'm a DITY type person and removed the microwave cover, finding that on one of the three door switches the on/off tab was broke. I reordered the part and installed it. It now runs again, but again, only when the door is opened (fan only). The other 2 switched appear to be OK. Can you tell me what other part might be affecting this?
Thanks so much for all your help, specifically your suggestion to change out the other two switches as well. After replacing them, the microwave is now back to normal operations once again...not only that, my wife says "Rock-on Techies!" We're back to "Nukin' " once again.

Usually this is a problem with the door switches or a broken door switch mount. Sometimes after a part replacement one will find a couple of wires have been reversed. There should be a mini-manual with wiring diagram inside the oven behind the control panel. If those are all correct, you may have a problem with the control panel, which we repair nationwide for $39.95. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
