The multiple flashes are the camera attempting to autofocus on a subject that is too dark - it is trying to compensate for underexposure. Are you taking photos outside at night? Another thing to check is your lens. It is possible you have a poor connection between your lens and the camera which may be interfering with the focus and exposure (aperture) setting by the camera. Take and alcohol pad and wipe the contacts on both the lens and the camera body and dry them thoroughly with a lint free cloth. I have seen the oils from finger prints cause problems with contacts like this, so make sure they are clean and if you are in doubt, clean them twice. You should try to pop the flash open and not use the simple exposure settings on the mode wheel. If you are using the "easy" mode - stop. Use the portrait or night exposure setting. The other possibility is the processor in the camera is bad. If you have eliminated all the possible things then the camera is the culprit. I hope you have a warranty if that is the case.

Use the flash when you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows. You can chose what flash mode, by pressing several times on the little button on top of the camera where the lightening logo is. One of the settings is flash off. Make sure it is not in that mode, because even when it is dark the flash won't fire. The other modes are flash, fill in flash and red eye reduction flash.

Is your camera still in warranty by where you bought it (30 days) or the manufacturer (1 year)?

If this camera is new, take it back.

Drop it agin, in the trash can. It is not worth getting repaired, you would be better off getting a new camera...

no there isn,t.but these cameras do not have enough flash to take great pictures at night,for one you cant be to far away,two you have to have a subject in range of the flash,other wise all you get is darkness.but at the most 10ft is the farthest you can go and still get a great shot at dark.also use auto mode when taking pictures,because it adjusts to light-dark etc.i know this because i have the same camera and its awesome,plus im a photo technician and ran a photo lab for 3years selling digital cameras. good luck,hope i helped

   you need to turn on your flash inorder to take pictures in the night..if u turn on the camera flash, it ll solve your problem

checking on the first 2 comments, if there is flash and the pictures are dark - please check the lighting conditions
is it a dark place, fairly lighted or fully lighted

the flash also has a certain range, the subject may be far that the flash cannot reach it

if there is really no flash - it may be a hardware problem, pls contact kodak to arrange repairs
try going to PASM> fill flash too, if still not working - repairs =)

You may need to use the flash. Make sure the setting is not flash off. If you're using the flash, make sure your subject is within the range of 14 feet for wide angle shots or 11 feet for telephoto shots. Use Image Expert to adjust the picture's brightness and contrast. Try adjusting the camera's exposure or sensitivity settings (use the Manual user mode). If you're taking pictures in the Manual user mode, look for the EV! warning that appears on your LCD screen when you are taking pictures out of the ideal exposure range. If you have trouble setting both the aperture and shutter speed manually, try adjusting the aperture and letting the camera choose the shutter speed with Aperture Priority mode. If you're using the macro mode to take a close-up photo, be sure to provide adequate lighting for your subject. If you're taking a picture at night and you want to light up the background as well as your subject, use the camera's slow synchronized flash mode. If you need more light, attach an optional external flash to the camera's hot shoe.
