Press menu to see if any words come on the screen. If they do, wait for them to go away and make sure your cable box is on.
If the cable box is on, make sure the input/source is the same as where you have something connected to the TV.

Ur tv the projection lamp,inside the tv now,been on an in used about 4 or 5 hours a day,the bulb been inside tv about 1 1/2 or 2 years?The projection lamp life is over,reqiure changing?Turn tv on hear alot of clicking too?The board call the Ballast board also require changing too,this Ballast board help to ignite the projection lamp.
I fixed a Phillips 37" TV that was doing this by re-soldering the wire/pin joints on the button board (side of TV). You have to take the TV apart and have a soldering iron to do this, of course. But it's really not that hard to do.
I'm a caveman, and I did it!
