How do i set valve timing on a benz C180 kompressor with twin cam and a chain

in what country is it, books by COUNTRY as are parts unique too the secret country, do you want helpers to guess or lie"?
it back fires (cough) to air cleaner?(good evidence)
there are over 50- causes (actual) for engine or EFI power loss. (engine , spark or fuel bad) 1,2,3, basics

so if engine compression tests pass
and the chain did not scream for help as it failed
then to the spark tune up. 100km service
the surge means EFI can not control idle.
and has 3 causes (engine,spark fuel cause)
its only 1 part of evidence that.
and not scanning the PCM mean you miss out on lots of possible causes. like P03nn errors. or more.
back firing to the Air cleaner means gross timing error or means burned up head, poppet intake valves.
or am timed wrong, bad chain or bad chain guides
spark timing will be good but not if cam is now timed wrong OOPS>?

folks post here all the time never tell the helper at all what they expect/

there are 50+ causes, of lost power, HP power from any complex engines.
engine parts bad.
spark bad
fueling bad. and lots of tools and test to DISCOVER it.

if I had to guess (arms bent behind my back) cam chain is KAPUT.(and its bad guides.)_
or if has VVT that bad or both it and chains/

The factory recommends you replace it at 100,000 miles, any sooner is a waste of money, the new design rounded tooth T belts are very durable.

This can be done by contact your service provider to connect his tool under steering with data connection to reset your entire setting

there is a mark on the crankshaft sprocket to marry with the mark on the engine casing and marks on the 2 cams behind the sprockets to line up with the marks on the cm carrier/cylinder head

Check the tensioner is tight its a large nut maybe 27mm and has a alloy washer

I would just buy a MB service manual that will have all your cars specs, Chilton, Haynes manuals are very useful and cost about $20 USD

Mercedes engines use timing chains not belts. The timing chain should last the life of the engine and no service is needed, unless something out of the ordinary happens, worn guide or sprocket.

mercedes say that 1ltr per 1k is acceptable.you dont say what mileage the car has done but over 70k i would recomend putting in 20/50 instead of 5/40.all forced air engines are designed to use oil to keep em sweet.turbo bearings/compressor bearings etc...

it is chain, there is no need to change.
