Spring and Mechanism Delay fell out of ice dispenser

Thanks for letting me know the model number! First I want you to check the wire connector at the bottom left hinge on the freezer door to insure the connector and the wires coming out from the bottom of the freezer door are snug and the connector has not become loose. Item location #11 in the photo=> HERE Then if that is not the problem we will need to move to removal of the Dispenser Front Panel 2186552T or 2197645B depending on color. We are looking for a burned 2162361 Micro Switch so please be careful and do this with power to fridge disconnected from the wall. If you are talking about the lever - item 27 in this diagram it isn't that difficult to change but you do have to take the shell off and watch the spring connection!

Call for service as the "wet ice" indicates freezer is warm.

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This will remove power to the dispensor . Remove the dispensor grill , and also the 2 screws at the bottom of the dispensor front . Lift the front up and out , and remove the plug on the front . You should now see the white switch bracket . On the left side , is the ice dispensor motor switch , when usually , one of the spears holding the switch breaks off , not allowing the ice dispensor to work . If this is the case , the part number is 2180226 . Only held on by 2 screws . When/if replaceing , be sure to put the plastic spacers in the correct position next to both switches , and be careful not to break one of the spears , holding the switches .

You need to remove the ice maker and open the front carefully. It has small micro switches inside it and it sounds like one that opens the water control valve is stuck in the on position. Be careful not to loose the arm spring and how that goes back together as you take it apart. Sea Breeze

Try looking for a child safety switch that can sometimes be found hidden up in the dispenser, depending on the model. It will be a switch that looks like it doesn't do anything.
If this can't be found then you may have a wiring problem which would require a service call.

Any chance of some photoes may be able to figure out if have some pics.

first check would be to see if the flapper door is closing all the way in the dispenser area. best way is to remove the ice bucket and shine a flashlight from the front up into the disp door area and look for light around the door from inside the chute.

another check would be to make sure the door delay mechanism is connected an not allowing the dispenser door to close to fast trapping a cubes in the door and causing an air leak in the chute..

Keep in mind if you use alot of crushed ice frost build up is faster than with just cubed.
