you could try updating the driver, for intsance google the namebrand of the product and driver. IE Dell drivers, or Emachines drivers and try to see if that will help. good luck
This sound like you are having problems with the power supply board. Since you are getting a momentary picture and sound the fuses are good but TVs today have "shorts" and "overvoltage" circuitry build in that will shut it down on errors. Someone knowledgeable in electronics will have to isolate the exact cause.
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
sony has problem with bad picture tubes as well as flyback transformers .if you have shorted hori output then replace it if set shorts it out again your looking at bad flyback transformer as well as maybe leaky tube.
Check soldered in fuse R607 in power supply circuit =
If open, replace it and bad converter xistors ( 2SC4834)
Next, replace shorted horizontal output transistor w/ first Quality.
Solder any / all bad connects, esp.horiz drive to base of horiz.
o / p xistor. Soldering is critical or it will blow up again......
My LG tv has suddenly got a problem with the picture. Whilst watching the tv with no problems at all,
the picture was suddenly reduced to a thin vertical line down the centre of the screen
and an awful smell seemed to come from the tv
There is a short ckt in your tv in horl. section.
1 isolate power from horizontal section.
2 check for normal output from power supply.
3 check parts in horl output section
a hor.output transistor
b diode & cap in h/output trnsformerckt.
c check for print.
d if all are ok check for eht transformer.
e if every thing becomes then reconnect hor output section supply.
f put on the set.
You have a bad flyback transformer and shorted horizontal output transistor.
Your set would have to be taken to a shop to have these parts replaced.

Something shorted and shut your set down. Most likely the high voltage transformer shorted which also shorted the horizontal output transistor.
