This is definitely a problem you don't want to tackle at home. TV's are made to kick off when it knows a problem exists. The warped pic is a "convergence IC" issue. That IC needs to be replaced by a tech, either in home or in shop.

You have defective Convergence IC's and possibly bad yoke return resistors located right by the IC's.

I TOOK APART THE TV TO MOVE IT DOWNSTAIRS AND it worked great for 10 minutes and then shut down. I have the code and it is green and 2 and 2

That is called the "Parpadeo luz verde de la muerte" or Blinking green light of death. You may want to make sure all the wires are tight first and that when you moved it a cable wasn't seated. Instead of replacing the capacitors, your situation sounds more like bad solder connections on the DM module. Here is a link to a web forum where they talk about this exact problem.http://www.highdefforum.com/rear-projection-tvs/58189-blinking-green-light-death-frequent-prob-w-mitsubishi-rear-proj-widescreens.html Blinking Green Light of ***** frequent prob Mitsubishi rear proj...

WHY DOES IT KEEP TURNING OFF

Yes. Rear-proj.with 3 picture tubes. These, like most newer tvs have self-checks that shut the tv off if the fault could worsen problems for the TV (such as damage picture tubes.) or it's not able to put a picture up.
After it shuts off, you can press menu and input/device together for 5 secs, and it will flash a 2-digit code (such as "23" or "24", etc.)(vertical or horizontal error.) Though you will need to call a repair shop for repair. It's usually better if they are Mits. factory authorized, as they'll likely have more exper. on Mits.

Not powering on ?

when i plug up my hitachi 61sbx59b proj. tv.
the green lights in the back come on ,a few seconds after them set tries to come up, you can hear the hv. for a fraction of a second then it shuts down.
Initially ceramic fuse was open but replacing it made no diference,r760 seems over heated,(dont know if connected).

Picture is very dark and hard to see

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is UX21513.You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Hitachi-UX21513-LM500-Replacement-UHP-Lamp-Proj-p/hitach-ux21513-lm500-lamp-bulb.htm?Click=48173 Have a blessed one!

I have a Mitsubishi medallion 65 and it keeps turning off,

Dear Sir,
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
1 - 2 = no error detected
2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)

1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 PART # 283P044020 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. I hope this helped.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
