Your USB ports on your computer are plug and play. If you have issues with your USB port, it is port related, driver related or device related. The following solutions will help you identify the problem to resolve your USB port issues.
To Identify a Working USB Port
Begin troubleshooting your USB ports by checking Device Manager to see if your USB ports or hubs are working properly.

  1. Click the Start button. ClickControl Panel.
  2. ClickSystem and Maintenance.
  3. ClickDevice Manager.
  4. Double-clickUniversal Serial Bus controllersand check to see if all your USB ports, hubs and controllers are functioning correctly. Any devices not functioning will have a yellow exclamation mark in front of them.
  5. If Device Manager shows any USB ports, hubs or controllers are not functioning, check for updated drivers.

To Update the USB Port Driver

An out-of-date BIOS driver can create issues with your system recognizing the USB port.
  • Watch a Video on Steps to Update Bios on Your Computer.
    1. When the update process is complete, your computer will restart again to load the operating system with the new driver version installed.

SOURCE: mouse or touchpad not working

Hi,

add an external mouse/keyboard to fix the onboard fault.
check the device manager for any yellow exclamation marks. as there may be a faulty or corrupt. keyboard/mouse touchpad driver.
other option, is to add remove touchpad drivers, and re-install.
finally, you could check if the settings are correct in the bios.

Thankyou For Using Fixya.

I have dell Optiplex 380 series, before during I am using, it suddently blue screen, and after that i power off the computer, after that i have power up unfortunately it wont start it load the message...

Sounds like the motherboard died. Open the case and look at the capacitors towards the raer of the case. If any of them are buldging, or are leaking a brown "goo" the MoBo is toast.
Fairly common problem in early Optiplex units.

I need vga driver for dell optiplex 380

Which specific model is the Optiplex 380 and what OS is installed on the computer? Does your computer have a graphics card installed or are you using the on-motherboard graphics?

Most of the Optiplex drivers are available here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/optiplex-380 . Use the drop down menu to select your OS. Expand the section labeled video for the Dell drivers. If you are using the on-board graphics, use the Intel Graphics driver. Otherwise, you need the one for the manufacturer of your video card. Note: Dell has the drivers for the NVidia and AMD cards that were installed on some models. If you have upgraded or added a new card, get the drivers from the manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

DELL STARTUP

There was problem at one time with IOGear KVMs not working correctly with the USB chipset on the Dell motherboards. This problem was resolved by using a USB hub between the KVM cable and the computer. The user could take the USB portion of the KVM cable and plug it into a USB hub and then take the USB hub and plug it into the Dell computer. That should help with the problem.
