SiPix Pocket A6 Printer Windows Vista Driver.
SiPix never had a Vista driver. Most new computers, like mine, do not have serial ports. Here is how I got my A6 working with Vista --
1. Purchase a serial to USB converter cable. (I got mine on Ebay for about $4.00.) Plug one end into the serial cable that came with the A6 and the other end into a USB port on the computer. Vista automatically picked up and installed the converter cable. In Device Manager, it shows up under Ports and gives it a com port number. Right click on the device and click on Properties. Click on the Port Settings tab and change Bits Per Second to 115200, Data Bits to 8, Parity to None, Stop Bits to 2, and Flow Control to Hardware per your A6 Owner's Manual. Click OK.
2. Now go to Printers in the Control Panel. Click to add a printer. Follow on screen prompts. Whe asked what port the printer is on, highlight whatever port the USB converter cable was assigned to. (In my case, Com 4.) When asked for the driver, direct it to the CD Drive where you have the A6 driver disk. Direct it to the Windows 2000 driver. If you try to use the XP driver, it will tell you it is the wrong OS. The 2000 driver will install. Your A6 should now be installed and show up in your list of printers.
My A6 now prints from any program or the internet using Windows Vista.
