Hello Ruby, On the mode dial you will see a setting for night time use, you should not have to change any other settings. If you refer to the user manual it will explain this in greater detail than I have room here to list.
Best Regards, Russell

SOURCE: need help with Kodak CX7530

The first thing you need to determine.... Is it your or the camera? You need to take a series of shots with your camera sitting on a tripod. If you do not have a tripod, sit the camera on a solid surface. ................... Camera movement is the number one cause of blurred photos. A few tips: 1. When you punch down the shutter button ... that can move the camera just as the picture is taken. Dont ''punch'' down the shutter button. Hold the camera in such a manner that you are squeezing the shutter button between your forefinger and thumb. 2. When you are using the LCD to frame the shot, you have your arms extended in front of you. This invites camera movement. Instead, use the viewfinder and make sure that the camera is pressed against your face. Your head is steadier that two outstreatched arms. For added stability, lean your shoulder against a pole, tree, building, or other solid object. 3. When taking flash pictures remember, that flash only covers so much area. The CX7530 is rated for 11.8 feet if you are not using optical zoom. It is rated for only 6.9 feet if you are using optical zoom. If your subject(s) are beyond those distances, you will get a dark photo. 4. When shooting in dim light and not using flash, the camera will select a slow shutter speed. You must use a tripod or sit the camera on a solid surface.

SOURCE: transfering pics from camera to pc

Use the cord that came with the camera and plug it into a usb socket. make sure the camera is on and set to the upload control. Windows does the rest. Also the manual in a more comprehensive form is on the software Cd in th PDF file.

SOURCE: no more flash

when i dropped my dx7630, a tiny plastic part broke that worked the holdback spring for the battery. Kodak has a repair service, or a referral service for repairs, but you have to send the camera in. i sent it in. they emailed me to say it was not a repairable part and didn't even ask if i wanted it back. luckily, i kept the memory chip. my C875 was $100 cheaper and had 1M more pixels. good luck with your natural light photography from now on. i think Kodak just figures you buy a new camera whenever anything goes wrong.

Could be several issues.

Are you shooting in manual exposure "M"ode? If so, are you trained on adjusting your exposure so that you are getting the correct exposure? Sorry, that's pretty basic, but I need to ask. If you don't know about manual mode, put the camera in "A"perture Priority and try it.

Next, try a different lens. The one you're using may be faulty and the blades failing to open intermittently.

Finally, could be that the camera is faulty and requires Nikon Service to test it out.

If I understand you correctly, you want to get the most pics on a card possible. You can do that by going into the menu and choosing the lowest quality setting and lowest number of pixels. The problem is, if you later decide to print the pics or if you find a really great shot that you want to enlarge to 8x10, the low-quality pics will look terrible. If this is truly a once in a lifetime trip, get more or larger cards, set your camera to get the highest quality pics possible and enjoy yourself in the knowledge that you've got the best pics possible.

Manual setting is not working, all the pics are too dark?????

I think your camera is fine. The part where you said that the exposure rating was on -2 pretty much gives you the solution. In other words, these settings were somehow changed. The fix is simple. In M or manual mode, with your right thumb, press the tiny round AV button located just outside the upper right-hand corner of the LED screen. While keeping this button pressed, using your right index finger (second finger) adjust the little wheel (located just above and behind the shutter) to the right or left until the exposure is set to O. Now the M setting should be back to normal. Even if you switch to another shooting mode and revert back to M mode, the settings should be retained.

Good luck!

Blurry parts of pics

Sounds like subject movement. Try using a faster shutter speed

Action pics with a long lens

What you are experiencing is not blur, its camera shake. You are shooting in low light so the shutter speed is being reduced by the camera's automatic features. Also the longer the lens (the farther you zoom), the higher the shutter speed you need. Even for non moving objects or when panning the shutter speed should be at least one stop above the focal length. ie - 300mm lens = 500 or 1000 shutter AT LEAST! (and don't forget, if its a film lens on your rebel, thats actually 300mm x 1.6 =480mm, so 1000 shutter or higher min.) Moving objects require even faster shutters. Solutions: Get faster (also called brighter) lenses which can be pricey. In low light use higher iso settings in the camera menu. Shoot in either manual or Tv mode and choose the higher shutter speeds while using the light meter to decide aperture. Use wider angle lenses or back off the zoom and move closer. Stabilizers built into the lens can steady the shot by two to four times as well.

Need help w/ night pics at softball games

On camera flash will not help in out door sports facilities. If you have maxed the ISO and set it to Aperture priority -which will slow the shutter down and give you camera shake and blurred images as the players dart about- Ho Hum you ain't going to win this one. Buying a bolt on flash I doubt will be powerful enough either, take what you can and get to grips with a good image editor- Though I guess the results will still be 'noisy'
