Difficulty wiring into GM harness

Trying to install a Durabrand DB1215 CD Receiver into a 1995 Plymouth Voyager with a wiring harness. Got all the wires hooked up except the orange illumination wire(in vehicle harness). Keep blowing fuses trying to figure it out.

  • cjmcfeeley11 May 09, 2009

Black is to ground. not enough wires from receiver to connect to harness. I've verified red and yelllow and black. Orange illumination wire in GM wiring harness is the one I'm trying to find a place for. No power till it's hooked up somewhere. Had it hooked up in another vehicle just not sure where the illum. wire was.

Look closely at your hot leads. It sounds like you have a hot wire that is to ground. What color are you thinking the hot leads are?

Well if your trying to actively wire it up with the car battery still connected that is why you are blowing fuses. just a heads up too if you have a live connection while hooking up the cd player you could short out other electrical devices and you could be in alot more trouble thatn just blowing fuses. the black wire is what is blowing fuses its because you have it hooked up wrong to a wire that is sending voltage not recieving voltage. ground the black wire to the actual chassis instead of hooking it to the ground wire from the harness or whatever color its grounded to which shouldnt be anything but black if you have the black wire hooked up to ANYTHING that isnt black that is why you are popping fuses. so hook up the red yellow and make your own ground you shouldnt have any problems after that.

We are trying to replace a 1995 Plymouth Voyager, how do you remove the belt-we can't locate the belt tensionor?

The tensioner is located just under the alternator. It has a nut sticking out for you to put a wrench or socket on. Be sure to pull down to install the new belt.

I need to replace my puel pump for plymouth voyeger 1999.

The fuel pump in a Plymouth Voyager is electric so you should check the fuses and relays before inspecting the fuel pump itself. If you have fuel in your tank but your vehicle has difficulty getting fuel, you may need to clean your fuel pump or replace it entirely. The Plymouth Voyager comes in a variety of styles and this may affect your choice of fuel pump.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); });
Things You'll Need:
  • Fuel pump kit
  • Socket wrench set
  • Torque wrench
  1. Step 1 Determine the fuel pump that your Plymouth Voyager will require. This depends on the make and model and engine size of your vehicle. Models manufactured from 1991 to 1995 came with a 2.5 L K, 3.0 L Mitsubishi 6G72, 3.3L EGA or 3.8 L EGH engine. Models made after 1995 may have a 2.4 L EDZ, 3.0 L Mitsubishi 6G72, 3.3 L EGA or 3.8 L EGH engine.
  2. Step 2 Relieve the fuel2_bing.gif system pressure and drain the fuel tank. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.
  3. Step 3 Support the fuel tank and loosen the strap bolts with a socket wrench. Remove the fuel line and electrical harness for the fuel pump.
  4. Step 4 Lower the fuel tank so that you can remove the lock ring for the fuel pump. This will allow you to remove the fuel pump.
  5. Step 5 Install the new fuel pump using the items included in the kit. Use a torque wrench to tighten the lock ring and bolts for the main fuel tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. Torque the bolts on the T strap for the fuel tank to 250 in. lbs.
  6. Step 6 Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.

Tie rod end removal for 1995 plymouth voyager mach 3

Not too much to it, Crack jamb nut loose at threaded end where it threads onto. Pop/whack, it out of spindle/knuckle, after removing cotter pin & nut, thread it out, and new one on, same distance, or amount of threads, and tighten jamb nut against it. Push end back into spindle/knuckle, give light tap with nylon or rubber hammer, so it won't spin when trying to tighten nut & install nut (35 ft.lbs) & cotter pin.

I want to connect a Kenwood KDC-20011S CD Car stereo to my old 1995 plymouth voyager. Where is a simple website I can go to get a diagram of the wires to connect.

Go to intalldr.com and go to quick wiring info. But on the other hand I would recommend going to an audio shop or even walmart and getting a wire harness. There are so many things that can go wrong when you dont and its quicker to do. All you have to do it color match the harnesses, then plug and play. Good luck
