This just means that you have power to the freezer.  It's letting you know it is plugged in.

Yes that would be fine.  The other light might be an alarm.  Many freezers have this option and will buzz when the temp. gets too high.  Also give me the complete model # on the sticker inside the freezer.  Not the # in the manual.

I am not having any luck finding anything with this model #.  If it is cooling ok then it is nothing to worry about.  I think is most likely an alarm system.

What do the control buttons do on a Hotpoint Ice Diamond R134A do please?

Could you please recheck for the model number. R134A is a reference to the coolant used in the freezer mechanism.
Orange is often a reference to the 'Fast Freeze' function being turned On. Green is showing the freezer unit is at the correct temperature. Red is warning the freezer is Too warm. Some freezers are fitted with an 'Economy' function where the freezer can be run at a lower power level when not used regularly such as when on holiday.

What is the orange light for on unidentified freezer?

If that orange light is on the front of the freezer, on the top or bottom, it is very likely a light telling you the freezer is not cold enough inside, and the food is in danger of spoiling.
It may also be a "on" light.
If you will find a freezer thermometer and put it inside, you can tell whether it is an "on" light or a warning light.
Usually freezers run temperatures of about 10 degrees Fahrenheit or lower if they are working correctly.
God bless your efforts.

GE UPRIGHT FREEZER NOT FREEZING.

Hello Mary;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You are locked in the defrost mode. About every 8-10 hours your freezer will go into a defrost mode for 20-30 minutes. This is where all of the components will shut down except for the light.

You have water on the floor because your condenser fan and compressor is shut down.

You did not provide a model number. Your model number is on the inside wall of your freezer near the top. So, I can only guess.

Lets take your freezer out of the defrost mode. In the lower back on the left hand side is your defrost timer (This may also be in the lower front depending on the model). Following is a picture of what a defrost timer looks like.

23573129-rcp3vehoqdbldikr0vsfofzb-3-0.jpg

The time is mounted on the back of a plate and held on with two screws. The plate has a hole through it to give you access to the round knob on the left. The knob has a slot in it. With a flat head screw driver turn the knob clockwise. You will hear a click. Turn one click at a time until the freezer turns on.

The timer cost about $20.00. You can replace it yourself. Unplug the freezer. Unscrew the timer. Remove the connector on the right.

You need to replace the timer or you will have icing problems.

Send me your model number and I will tell you what the part number is.

There are 3 lights on the front of the Zanussi Freezone. The green one on the left doesn't light up. What does that indicate? The red light on the right is on constantly. Does this mean that the freezer is...

Starting the Appliance
Insert the plug into the wall socket. The green pilot light will illuminate to show that the appliance is switched on. The red alarm light will also illuminate until the freezer reaches the correct temperature.

Alarm Light
The red alarm light will illuminate when the temperature in the freezer is higher than the thermostat setting. This alarm light will illuminate if:
- The appliance has just been started.
- Fresh food has been put in the freezer.
- The lid has been left open, opened frequently or open for too long.
The red light will go out when the freezer has returned to the correct temperature

Hi James.

Most Kenmore upright freezers use a backup battery located at the lower part of the appliance. When the battery is low the freezer will beep continuously. If the unit has been off for a long time, and if the unit uses a battery, then the battery may need replacement.

Here a picture of the battery in its housing, located in the lower front part of the freezer.

Pretty sure that the slide is for winter and summer operation, you are rite, the 3 position is the cold level and the 3 lights (Yellow, Red, Green). the Yellow indicates a caution,"" not at temp or faulty""the Red indicates the unit is active and the Green indicates at temp and operating correct. This unit is old and not much information is available however I hope from my experience, that will help you, any further problems call Russ on 08 95230552.
