Hi Sally

I havd exactly the same problem. I contacted Rangemaster/Aga support line (0845 603 5312 if in warranty, 0870 789 5107 if not) and they told me the heating element was shot.

My cooker is 2 1/2 years old, so out of warranty, but they were good enough to send me a new cooker top (top left hand side only of course) free of charge!!!, I just have to get it fitted.

You have to replace the whole left hand side of the cooker top too - the burner that the wok goes on!

Good luck

Quick update - I downloaded the instruction manual from the rangemaster website, and the instructions on how to do this are in there, so I did it myself - took me 20 minutes, all working well now,

    Good Luck

We had the same problem. The one of the wires soldered to the underside of the warming plate had fell off due to poor soldering. The warming plate and the warning light are connected together with piggy back connectors so that is why the light is on even when the warmer is cold,.
You must have been lucky as when ours fell off it shorted out on the cooker chassis with a spectacular shower of sparks.
regards

Neil

The hot warning light on my rangemaster110 warming plate has stopped working but the warming plate still works fine

Two possibilities, either the bulb has failed, or the temperature sensor in the top has failed. Neither is likely to be an easy or cheap replacement.

Rangemaster 110 oven heats by itself

That happens either because the timer control is faulty, or because there is a contact on the element wires or connectors, and the element is grounded.

Control board and wiring harness are tested using a multimeter.

Using a thermal pot

I also bought the thermal carafe; before I could hack the warming plate, my wife set the "Auto Off" feature to 1 minute, which shuts off the carafe heater. The settings are preserved unless you lose power for an extended period.

The warmer does still warm through the brewing cycle but it doesn't overheat the carafe (IMO.) Hope this helps.

Warming plate boils coffee.

Make sure you are using the type of commercial coffee pot like the one in the picture. They don't have to have to be plastic with the metal bottom, they can be all glass. The commercial pots are heavy duty and usually disperse the heat well.

If you are using commercial pots the only solution without replacing the warmers is to put three pennies on the warmer and to put the pot on top of them. The pennies will get hot so don't forget and grab them but the pennies help to move the pot just a little way away from the direct heat.

Faulty plate warmer on rangemaster 110 dual fuel

We have the same problem on a Rangemaster Toledo 110. It is not a fuse.
The 'Hot' light still comes on because that is a different (parallel) circuit.
Examination by a competent electrician has found that the soldering for the wires that power the warming metal strip under the glass is faulty. You will have to ask for a replacement part.
There may be a design flaw, so you might want to enquire about the professional all gas burner top and just use the griddle as a warming plate over the second wok burner.

Good luck.
