No you can't. i bought one from ebay b/c the guy said it would work but it didn't. after some research- i found the 7833/7835 will not accept anything through the DIN except the CD carriage.

Your alpine unit is the old "M-BUS" the other adapter you are talking about is an "AI-BUS" adapter. (Hence the model numbers beginning with CD"M" or CD"A" ...)
Look for an Alpine M-Bus to RCA Input adapter.

Press the "CLK" (clock) button until the time is displayed, then press and hold the "CLK" button for at least 3 seconds until the time indicator blinks. While the time is blinking. turn the rotary encoder to increase or decrease the minutes. Once you've set the clock it will automatically return to normal operation after 5 seconds. Pre 2000 Models:
Press and hold the "CLOCK" button for 3 seconds until the time indicator blinks. Press "PRESET 5" to adjust the hour setting. Press "PRESET 6" to adjust the minutes. Press "CLOCK" again to exit clock adjustment mode

And to set the stations get the station you want and hold down one of the buttons from 1-6 to progream the station. you need to hold the button for about 5 sec.
