This requires a message on hold device and depending on which device you have the methods vary. Check instructions for your device. If you do not have an MOH device, you will need to contact your phone vendor to obtain one.

How do i change the message on my answering machine

Hold the announcement key down. If the old message is there it will read it out loud to you. If you wish to change it, just hold the announcement key and speak over the old message. Make sure you keep holding the announcement key as you record your new message. When you have finished recording, release the key. If you wish to hear your message push the announcement key again. Do not hold it down this time. If you are not satisfied with the new message, repeat the method by holding down the announcement key again and recording your message. Your old message will disappear once you have recorded your new one.

I need a user manual for a Cable and Wireless CWT2100 answerphone, Thanks Anne

I have the same phone. To record a message, press Menu - press down arrow keys until you get to Record Outgoing Message - Press and hold down Menu again to Record. You record handsfree. I have a problem with the quality of the recorded message, it is very hard to hear it, there is a lot of background noise.

If you want to revert back to the pre-recorded message, do all of the above as far as recording the message but instead of actually recording a message, lift the handset and it reinstates the pre-recorded message.

To listen to the message you have recorded, Press Menu, click on down arrow keys as far as OGM and press Menu again to play the message.

How record message

With the phone in standby mode, press and hold the [greeting] key. You will hear the announcement "Record greeting" and a confirmation tone. "--" flashes on the message counter.
Start record your message. You have thirty seconds, and the message counter counts down.
When finished, press [greeting]. You'll hear a confirmation tone, and then your greeting plays back.

The above is from the "Recording a personal outgoing message" section of the manual (page 36 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one here.
