Webcam not working and my pc wont restart or power off

if you go the the HP website and under the support tab click download the latest software and drivers, you should be able to search for your computer model. there you will find the drivers for your computer, look for the webcam driver, download and install them and it should be working fine.

You can use the built in camera in Compaq Presario PC Notebook by installing software for web cam.

If you are using Win XP then it had a built in webcam viewer, just by double clicking the camera in my computer.

This laptop doesn't have a built in one.
You will need to look on the Webcam manufactures website for the latest driver.

This should not happen. If it has happened,Please go to the retailer and have your computer replaced since it is in warranty period. Next time please check the workability of any machine you buy for any defects before you bring it to your home.

You need the drivers for the web cam.
Was this webcam built in or you bought it separately?
Please could you tell me the model number and name of the company so that I could help you find the drivers for it (if its compatible with windows 7).

check HP or microsoft for update for the cam .sounds like conflict with program or miscommunication between camera and OS

i can't find sound and audio driver after formatting my laptop compaq presario C700 notebook pc

goto control panel scanner and camera wizard
and then thr will be a camera
click on it
then take a new picture and u`ll see urself in the screen!

Vista does not have a stand-alone feature for Compaq Presario c700 webcam. You need to have another application to use the webcam. Fortunately, I found an application, YouCam, that allows you to take snapshots (and even videos) using the built-in webcam of the laptop.
