You don't need really fancy software to edit noise gates, the chrome add extension for audacity is good enough for noise reduction.

You are probablly overdriving the unit. Too much gain saturates the electronics. The noisegate really only works to eliminate noise when input signal is below a certain level... it is NOT used or effective when at high signal levels. If you set gain too high the tiny signals will open the gate. The noise gate will prevent low signals like guitar "handling" noise from passing through until you are actually playing the guitar. This is the purpose of the noise gate.

If the audio is being run through a "noise gate", that is what clips the first part of sound.

Reduce the attack time of the noise gate or remove it from your system.

if its only when you put your foot on the clutch it could be a release bearing fault,does it do it when you are not moving and put your foot on the clutch(engine running of course)
