So I was given a free dell w2600 lcd tv today that does not work. I figured I would mess around with it before it goes to the dump to see if I could fix it, would make a nice computer monitor maybe. I was told it overheated or something possibly but after 3 or so hrs of it being off it would work again. I plugged it in at home and it would not turn on. I took the back all off to see what was going on. If I press the power botton on, I hear a click sound like the tv is turning on, but no picture or anything or any idicator light(dont know if it has one). Then, if I hold the power botton for several seconds I hear the click like it might be turning off(only makes the click if I hold the botton). I touched one of the transformers just to see if I would get a shock and I did. I looked over all the capacitors to see if they looked bad and none appear to be blown visisbly, testing may yeild different. I now touch one of the transforumers and I get no shock at all. Does this give anyone any clues???? Maybe it should just go to the dump, but this is all for fun.
