You might try locating parts through a local dealer like www.arcolawn.com. Coleman is difficult to find parts for but if it can be done Zach the parts man can do it.

Carry the old spring to a lawnmower repair shop and see if they can match you up with a spring. They may ask you for the make and model of the generator and/or the Subaru engine, so have that info with you . This info should be in the owners manuals.
Here your are. Subaru engines are made by Robin. I don't know if Robin owns Subaru or Subaru owns Robin. Any time you need a manual you can get it from the Robin America site.
Check the vent in the fuel cap to make sure its free to breath. It could be creating a vaccume in there and starveing for fuel. Maybe run it with the gas cap off and see if the problem gos away.
Try removing the float bowl from the carbuerator and empty it out. Also check the float valve to see if there is debris under it. Thi problem is definitely fuel.
You need a quart of regular old SAE 5W30 motor oil with detergent. The engines on these generators are more or less the same as a lawn mower. Don't forget to service/change the air cleaner when you change the oil, that should keep your generator producing full power.
