Check the connection from the transformer to the track, and that all the track is well connected. Make sure nothing is touching both tracks, shorting them out.

Yes they do. I have the #380-2 Water Tank car (and the other 4 that are available) They run and operate just as the other cars do.

SOURCE: New Bright Holiday Express Animated Train - figures do not move

Make sure you the wheels on the cars are actually rolling and not sliding (being drug down the track) Most of the animation is down mechanically as the set moves.

SOURCE: an electricalroblem with Holiday Express train

This train set is very particular and getting it to work each Christmas is a family tradition in frustration. First you must make sure that all the pieces of track are connected properly and that the track is perfectly symmetrical and flat. We double-check the battery positions every year and find one in wrong. There are + and - signs, but they're hard to see; use a flashlight. There is a black toggle switch below and behind the red stack that toggles forward (to make the train go forward) and backwards (reverse); straight out perpendicular to the train is the "stop" position. Also, you have to start at a stop/switch station. One other note: behind the red stack, there is a smaller black stack. If you turn this, you can make smoke come out of the stack. I think I remember someone suggesting a drop of cooking oil. Hope this helps!!! Hope you get it set up for Christmas!!!

1994 Greatland Holiday Express train set. Where can I get at least two curved tracks?

There are places online that sell that track. It's pretty expensive. Measure the distance between the rails to get the correct track. Greatland may have the track, but if they don't, then look online for other places.

We are having difficulty turning on our New Bright Holiday Express Animated Train set. Husband and I have been trying to figure this out for our eager 2 little boys. The remote seems to turn (red light)...

Here are a couple of resources from New Bright:
http://www.newbright.com/public/electric-train-faq

http://www.newbright.com/images/Manuals/384%20ws%20manual.pdf

There is no On/Off switch on the train. Power goes from wall plug to transformer, then from transformer to track clip, which must be attached to the track. A control line goes from the track clip to the controller. Mine has a green light just above the red On/Off button that will come on even if the engine and tender are not on the track. The tender does all the work, and must be connected to the engine and on the track. There are four sliding contacts between the tender wheels that provide contact with the track.

Check the power circuit that goes to the track if there is an open circuit, open circuit means, break or cut line that can not flow the current going to the track to give a power to the train, ok.

How do you get the engine to move? Is there a switch to turn it on?

The Engine is actually powered by the "Tree Top Tender" car. You will see the brushes that conduct power on the tender car. Place the Loco on the track and plug in the Tender car and it should work.
