Putting a pop lid back together

First of all brand and model. Then before you replace belt did I work? Basic troubleshooting did you plug everything and put back together correctly, if when you took it apart you didn't plug or put back together correctly you will have this problem. Also make sure most models have a safety switches that all safety switches are connected when operating make sure lid is closed. Hopefully this might help.

Sometimes there is a tiny speck of dust caught between the top of the canister and the lid. Unlock lid, with a slightly damp tissue wipe around top on canister and then the rubber seal in the lid, dry with dry tissue, put back together, noise should be gone.

One shouldn't take things apart if one cannot re-assemble them :D
Take it to your local vac shop.

It just has to do with a thermal cutoff that it got hot enough

It's possible when you took the lid off one of the wires has come off a switch or the field. It could also mean the motor has gone. Recommend you get it checked out.

3949247 is the actual part number for that lid switch, and you won't find a blow out of the thing taken apart because its a molded part and not designed to come apart/

He is full of **** trying to scam you. It sounds like your disc drive is out of alignment with the top part of the disc drive so the clicking your hearing is the bottom of your disc drive trying to eject and the top is holding its on as the top has sliding parts that meet perfectly with the bottom part of the disc drive so it sucks the game in and out. You need to open it yourself with a philips head screwdriver you dont have to worry about the motherboard or any other part just take the drive out undo the ribbons connect the drive to the motherboard then it should pop right out. Been awhile since I took a slim apart they dont break as often (yet). From here you should have a metal caseing over the disc drive maybe not with the slim. You pop the metal caseing off the you have a plastic disc drive. Take the top part off maybe requires small phillips screw driver. Since you have a disc in it when you take the lid off hook the cables back to the ps3 motherboard and to the cd drive. Now press eject with the top lid off. Then put the top lid back on and insert a disc it should work. Then just put it back together. Theres a little motherboard on that cd drive do not short it out on anything. You can do this if you cant worst is youll have to buy a new cd drive from the repair shop you mentioned. Then they should charge to much labor to put it back together as you had it apart when you got there. I love the Dyson (DC07), but after 7 or 8 years it lost suction and needed some attention beyond filter cleaning. After much online research I found the few bits of advice that for me were the holy grail. After all of the standard stuff, clear clogs, clean filters etc..... In this order: 1) Remove & empty the canister, ***important****-leave the canister bottom lid open. 2) remove the three star screws at the top of the canister. It'll take a bit of pressure to pull the top up, there's a rubber seal. When you pull it up there will be a rod running down into the canister, leave it be, just pull up the top high enough to clear out any debris. 3) Put the top back on aligning the screws, when you lower it make sure the bottom of the rod engages with the hole at the bottom center of the canister, this is why you left the bottom lid open. Put the three star screws back in. 4) Turn the canister upside down, lid open, and keeping in mind this is thin plastic, gently tug upwards on the four fins that surround the bottom rubber seal. This part is held in by friction, so work your way around the four fins gently pulling until you work the ring they're connected to free. This will give you access to the inside of the canister. 5) remove the round perforated section by tugging upwards on it, set it aside with the fin part. 6) Take the canister to a laundry tub or large sink and holding it bottom up fill it with hot/warm water. Grasping the center section shake it vigorously and turn it upside down while shaking and a bunch of sh*t will come out. Repeat several times. 7) Dry thoroughly, you might use a hairdryer held to the center tube, but only if you can switch off the heat and use air only. Make sure its 200% dry, water will kill your machine 8) clean and replace the round perforated section 9) replace the fin section, I'd suggest pulling the round rubber part off of the fin part and setting it in place on the canister first, then follow with the plastic fin part. If you don't do it this way the rubber won't seat properly and the bottom lid won't close. 10) Close the lid, replace the canister, and staaaaaart suckin like it's brand new.

Beofre you go to the extent of buying a replacement canister, you can remove the top and using a straightened coat hanger type thing open that bottom lid. Then maybe you can clean the rim and possibly add some silicone spry to loosen things up.
