Diagram put back together

Hello
Not to much information from you . Here is a E-Machine assembly for the motherboard .
The power switch is a 2-wire connection to the Motherboard. The 2 pins on the motherboard it connects to will be labeled something like PW. The polarity on it doesn't matter. There will also be a power LED connection. Usually those wires are green and black. Green is positive. There's also a hard drive activity LED with (usually) red and black wires. Red is positive. Hopefully that polarity will be marked on the motherboard. If not, try it one way and if the LED doesn't light up, try it the other way. The power (green) LED should be on whenever the PC is on. The hard drive (red) LED will be on whenever the drive is being accessed. There might be pins on the motherboard for reset. Some computers don't have a reset button. In that case you wouldn't connect anything to it. If your case does have a reset button then connect the wires to the reset pins on the motherboard. Polarity doesn't matter for that.

Hope this helps

How can i correct the front panel connections

Hi,
your motherboard has three sockets for the front panel connection:
-USB socket, to connect any front usb ports you might have
-AUDIO socket, to connect speaker/microphone socket on the front of your case
-FRONTPANEL socket, where are connected the turn on/reset buttons, the ide/power leds and the buzzer. To connect all the pin in the right way, refer to the attached picturefranzer_2.jpg
Hope it helped,
Franz

These cables were not conected. Power led reset led pwr sw hdd led. I have located the connection points i think but not the actual placement.

Here are the connections sockets. The front panel power connection socket is this one marked as C

and here are the connections details for the pins

Mention that the leds (power and hd activity) have no problem in reverse polarity connection. They will not light on. So if you came up with this problem, reverse the polarity.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

Connection between emachines case and motherboard

Most likely the wires are for power, reset, and hard disk light. Touch one pair together momentarily, if your compter comes on then connect those wires to the power button. After the computer is on, connect the other two pair to the hard disk light one pair at a time until you see the light activate when the hard disk is running. Then connect the remaining pair to your reset button.

Front panel wiring

Hi, Maybe we can wing it if you can send an image of the motherboard closeup on the F_PANEL connections and the wires from the front panel itself, or get the specific motherboard model during POST so we can try getting URL of manual. In some instances, the front panel wires are: Green wire, power on green light +, white wire is power on green light -; Red & Black, speaker; Red & white - HDD red activity light indicator where red is HDD + & white is HDD -; Orange & white - Reset Black & White - power on Post back so we can figure things out. Good luck and kind regards.
