My first time on here, but.... I assume you're running Windows - if drive spins up, that's good - if it's OS drive and you get no Windows, probably a Master Boot Record (MBR) - if no files or scrambled, likely a FAT issue - each can be repaired through your original WIN CDs. If totally, partially deleted or formatted, you can recover almost anything with GETBACK software. I LUV it, and I think they may still offer a trial. Go to www.runtime.org
