This device seems to have many errors, they have a warranty of 90 days, take it back or try deleting wav files, it seems unable to play high frequency ones
sorry, there is no delete on E200 series, try deleting in Windows Explorer. If that doesnt work, you will have to do what i did and Format the player + re-add ur music.
You probably noticed that the directions for deleting in the manual simply don't work, the option isn't there. There are still a couple ways to do it.
Connect the player to your computer, navigate to the device and select the files you wish to delete, then press delete. Somewhat time consuming if you have a lot of files.
Another way is use Windows Media Player to sync the device. Load your library with the files you want on your player, then sync. WMP will delete all files on the player now, and put only the files you have selected on the player.
The manual is fraught with errors on the deleting music page - including the fact that it references p.24, when the answer is on p.23 - but it suggests that you can only delete songs from the player itself or from Windows Explorer: Delete Song 1. In playback mode, press submenu. 2. Select the Delete Song item.
or p.32 for delteing from Windows Explorer
I can think of at least 2 other reasons why you are not able to delete the songs as normal in Windows Media Player: The hold or lock switch is engaged on the Sansa
The following is an EXTREME solution that I would not reccomend: try this fix from Microsoft themselves (it is very lengthy - too long to reproduce in full here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925718/en-us
Short version: To resolve this problem, clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
1.
Exit Windows Media Player.
2.
For Windows XP:
Click Start, click Run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
For Windows Vista:
Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
3.
Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
Note You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.
4.
Restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
Use the Device Manager to "repair" the device. This will delte all your songs and start you from scratch. If you have Windows Media Player 11 installed on your computer, uninstall it and rollback to Media Player 10 - this was most likely the original source of your problem. Go to www.usasupport.philips.com and enter your model number in if you don't believe me (and for instructions on rolling back).
DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDERS, or your Mp3 player will be gone beyond repair. There are critical files in there.
yes there is. when you plug it in to your computer pull up my computer then go to the ilo tumbnail and click on the stuff you want delted, then push the delte buton and you got
Click on MY COMPUTER after clicking start button and you will see your ilo drive..Just open up the drive and you will see the songs right click on the song and delete it. You may have to click on some of the folders to see your song..Also you can right click and rename the song or add new folders just like you would in any hard drive...BGH =Big gaint Head
